Description

The Lycogel camouflage and concealer products were originally developed in 2004 to meet the demand for effective makeup that could be used after cosmetic procedures. Patients needed something that worked well to camouflage signs of the intervention and minimised downtime. Lycogel’s breathable foundation was designed exclusively for skin-care professionals to apply directly to the skin immediately after plastic surgery, laser treatments, dermal filler injections, dermaroller micro-needling, chemical peels and other cosmetic procedures. Lycogel has the added benefit of speeding up the healing process, protecting the skin during the recovery period as well as covering up any flaws.

Thanks to its revolutionary approach to skin care, Lycogel is definitely a brand to look out for. It can change the way you see makeup products. Lycogel: be beautiful inside and out Here is a guide to some effective skin camouflage products that should also be kinder to your skin. The best selling breathable concealer has been reformulated and is now available in 3 new shades “ Light, Medium and Tan. This high coverage product allows you to precisely conceal areas that need a little extra coverage, helping to create a flawless yet natural looking complexion. Besides being the first truly breathable makeup that enhances the skin’s appearance and condition, this triple-silica-gel based foundation contains Lycogel Complex, a patented formula proven to increase oxygen and stimulate younger looking skin.Lycogel products are wearable, everyday foundation & concealers coming in a wide range of versatile shades, matching a variety of skin tones and skin types. With the added addition of two new products; the translucent Breathable Balm and the luminous Breathable Tint, give users a choice between full coverage, matte finishes or a sheer, radiant finish. As for the disadvantages, Zinc Oxide is also not cosmetically elegant. It leaves a disturbing whitish tint on the skin , although , according to a 2000research paper by Dr. Pinnell, it's slightlyless white than TiO2. Still, it's white and disturbing enough to use Zinc Oxide nanoparticles more and more often. Breathable Balm a clear balm that protects and energises the skin with its LYCO-Complex, which has over 12 active ingredients working together to deliver health benefits.

The main concernwith nanoparticles is that they are so tiny that they are absorbedinto the skin more than we want them (ideally sunscreen should remain on the surface of the skin). Once absorbed they might form unwanted complexes with proteins and they might promote the formation of evil free radicals. But do not panic, these are concerns under investigation. A 2009 review article about the safety of nanoparticles summarizes this, "to date, in-vivo and in-vitro studies have not demonstrated percutaneous penetration of nanosized particles in titanium dioxide and zinc oxide sunscreens". The English translation is, so far it looks like sunscreenswith nanoparticlesdo stay on the surface of the skin where they should be. We have also browsed through Prospector to see what manufacturers sayabout their algae. There is, for example,an algae extract trade-named Lanablue that comes fromblue-green algae (green algae is rare, less than 1% of the total macroalgae in the world) and is claimed to have retinoid like effects(i.e. reduce wrinkles, smooth skin) but without the side effects (though it seems now that the INCI name of Lanablue was changed to Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae Extract).

Mineral make-up is usually seen as a healthier choice of makeup, but while it 'just' sits on the surface of the skin Lycogel on the other hand, contains 12 active ingredients (Lyco Complex) that delivers oxygen, moisture and nutrients to the skin. These active ingredients help support skin condition and help the healing process. Lyco Complex active ingredients are delivered to the skin by the Designer Gel Base, a breathable base that is specially formulated to deliver each and every one of the LYCO-Complex’s 12 active ingredients to the skin for maximum benefits. This carefully balanced set of 12 active ingredients work together to deliver oxygen, moisture, and nutrients to the skin including hyaluronic acid, anti-oxidants and peptides, with some of these benefits; All Lycogel products are oil-free with SPF 30 protection except for the Breathable Balm which has SPF15. They are designed to glide on smoothly without clogging pores and can be removed easily with a gentle cleanser. They stay on the skin even with direct exposure to water for up to 90 minutes. Any complexion type, including sensitive and irritated, is suited for Lycogel. The selection of products include: Here is a brown algae extract (the most common type, about 59% of macroalgae), also just called Algae Extract on the product label that is simply claimed to be a free radical scavenger, aka antioxidant. These were just three random examples from three manufacturers all called Algae extract even though they all come from different algae with different claims.
