Description

The best guards are the longest and work at all speeds. If you’re riding slowly, mud comes off the trailing edge of the tyre and is thrown upwards, but as speed increases it’s thrown further forward and you eventually ride into this spray. Having a mudguard that covers the full arc of mud trajectory is the best option. You can also change the height of the mudguard by 6mm through the slots for more clearance. NOTE: Highest position offers the most stability with the best mud clearance

As a fork compresses, the air volume within the lower legs decreases, increasing air pressure. The more the fork compresses, the more pressure increases. This effect can have the unintended consequence of preventing full travel from being achieved. Our lower leg channels help alleviate this issue by dramatically increasing air volume within the lower legs and thereby reducing the amount of additional unintended pressure ramping. Use the Allen key provided to screw the bolts in EVENLY a bit each side, go gentle to start off to ensure you DON'T CROSS THREAD THEM, stop once it's pulled together so you can still move it

Squeeze the side wings of the mudguard hard and slide under the fork brace from the rear with the wheel and tyre still in place INSPECT BEFORE YOU RIDE: DO NOT USE IF DAMAGED IN ANY WAY AS CONTINUED USE MAY LEAD TO FAILURE OR INJURY If you find an item at a lower price with another commercial internet retailer, you will receive it from us at the same price, provided the conditions listed in the link are met. RapidRacerProducts Ltd accepts no liability for any damage or injury caused due to improper fitting or use of our products Available optionally is the new Kabolt-X, a lightweight bolt-on floating axle exclusively for the all-new 36 and 38 that not only shaves grams but also increases torsional stiffness via its sleeveless, single-sided pinch bolt design. Chassis alignment must be reset each time the front wheel is removed and reinstalled on both the Kabolt-X and 40 floating axles, but the end result is the same – perfect alignment and perfect performance. Lower Leg Bypass Channels

Modern frame designs and geometry trends require modern suspension design solutions. The arch design of the all-new 36, 38, and 40 is designed to pair perfectly with modern Enduro and Downhill bikes. Head tube profiles have grown larger and larger, and fork offsets shorter and shorter. Our new arch shape takes this need into account by jutting forward to provide ample headtube clearance at full compression. State-of-the-art computer modeling techniques helped us to create an organic lower leg shape that optimizes stiffness with the absolute minimal amount of material. More Tunable GRIP2 Floating axles might look similar to other axles, but in fact they offer a distinct performance advantage due to their unique ability to match the exact width of the fork’s wheel mounting surface precisely to the front hub flange spacing, thus creating perfect chassis alignment and eliminating unwanted friction between the upper and lower fork legs. Floating axles provide much smoother suspension movement throughout the entire range of the fork’s travel, notably improving sensitivity and overall ride quality. Another benefit of these channels is that lower leg bath oil is circulated to the upper reaches of the lower legs, continuously lubricating the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends through its travel. Bleeders The ProGuard BOLT ON will fit most fork models listed below if they have the *THREADED HOLES at the rear of the fork brace (DISK BRAKE ONLY): WHEELS: 26” 27.5” 29” TYRES: up to a 3” tyre BRAKE / OFFSET: MINIMUM 44mm HUB: STD & BOOST FORKS:

FOX 40 Fender / Mud Guard

Select the correct bolts for your fork (details below) and run these into the threads WITHOUT the mudguard which will 'PRIME' and clean the threads before fitting, this part is important (YOU MAY NEED TO RE-TAP THE THREADS IF DEBRIS / PAINT IS LEFT IN THE THREADS FROM THE MANUFACTURE OF THE FORKS) BOLTS: FOX = M3 (2 bolts) | OHLINS = M4 (3 bolts) | SR SUNTOUR = M6 ( *1 bolt) All the mudguards in this test mount under the suspension fork brace, however, there is limited space between the fork crown and tire. If you are running 29-inch wheels with tall tires, the mudguard will fit very close to the tire. As a rule of thumb, it is best to ensure there is at least 18 mm of clearance (about the width of your index finger) between the mudguard and the tire to avoid rubbing. Once the mudguard is fitted, It is recommended that you release all the air pressure from your fork and compress it to its maximum travel to make sure the fork lowers do not hit the mudguard. Will my MTB mudguard break in a crash?
