This beautiful city is also famous as the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, head of the Anglican Church. Shown above is an extremely useful, interactive Canterbury map, showing the location of the city situated in the county of Kent in south-eastern England, United Kingdom. Kent Police have worked with key licenced trade venues to ensure that all reports of spiking are reported to the police so that appropriate action can be taken. Venues have also been taking measures to protect their customers including reviewing or establishing spiking policies, testing empty glasses, providing drink coverings and increasing searches before entry.

Take a leisurely stroll in the nearby coastal towns of Herne Bay with its splendid seafront gardens and Whitstable with its working harbour and colourful streets of fishermen’s cottages. Although still in use as an almshouse for the elderly, much of this remarkably well-preserved facility can be toured. Highlights include visiting its two chapels and the various exhibits housed in the Undercroft, some of which detail its use as a schoolhouse for a period where Christopher Marlowe studied as a young student. Also featured on this Canterbury map are the nearby towns, villages and areas of Pean Hill, Blean, Broad Oak, Sturry, Chartham, Westbere, Thanington, Rough Common and Bridge, you can also see the Canterbury Golf Club. Canenco’s street cleaning staff have been hard at work removing gum build up from a number of key city centre streets over the last few weeks, using a brand new piece of kit to blast away the unsightly stains. Also of interest is the Norman Water Tower. It was once part of an ingenious water supply and sewage disposal system that ensured epidemics were virtually unknown in the Close. The area immediately surrounding Canterbury Cathedral, the Cathedral Precincts, is also worth exploring. The most interesting of the buildings lie to the north of the cathedral and are grouped around Green Court. UNESCO has granted world heritage status to part of the city, including St Martin’s Church, St Augustine’s Abbey and the Cathedral.

The Norman cathedral still dominates the skyline as you approach Canterbury; giving 21 st century visitors the same sense of awe as their medieval counterparts. Completely refurbished and reopened in 2012 in what's become the city's cultural hub - the Marlowe Theatre is also located in the vicinity - the building itself is something of a tourist attraction, designed in an attractive Tudor-revival style and constructed in the late 19th century.
