What is Vet Aquadent ? 

While toothbrushing is the gold standard for managing oral hygiene, some pets do not tolerate toothbrushing, cats especially. It’s easy to forget that oral health is important for your pets too. Having clean teeth and gums not only makes them healthier, it can protect them from infections too. This plaque that stays on the teeth long enough then hardens into tartar. When the tartar is above the gumline it is visible and your vet can remove it quite easily during a professional dental clean. It is the tartar below the gumline which presents problems.

This tartar build up below your pet’s gum line causes inflammation and can damage the important structures which support the teeth and also cause infection. When the disease reaches this level, dogs and cats can go on to experience serious problems with their teeth, and often pain. The product is called CET AquaDent, and it’s a drinking water additive for dogs and cats. It’s supposed to help keep their breath fresh in conjunction with brushing. For dogs and cats aged more than six months old, simply add 1ml of Vet Aquadent to every 100ml of water. It is advised to replace drinking water with fresh water every 24 hours, even if it has not all been consumed.
