Description

On the whole, the 4G Plus Hub is a great home broadband solution for most households. It offers plenty of bandwidth if you have good 4G signal, allowing multiple people to stream videos at once for example, and online gaming is generally very smooth. These add-ons run on a 30 day rolling contract until you cancel them. When you first buy an Add-On, it lasts until the date of your next BT Mobile bill. It covers minutes or data used over your inclusive plan allowance, up to the allowance for that Add-On, from your last BT Mobile bill until your next one. Add-On allowances reset at the start of each billing month. You can only have one data and one minutes Add-On at any one time

In some cases, you might not be able to get 4G home broadband, even if you’re within the 4G coverage area as shown on Three’s 4G coverage map. If this is the case, you’ll be shown the following message: Your spend cap is for data, minutes or texts beyond your plan’s monthly allowance, you can set a limit on what you spend. Any add-ons you buy won’t count towards the spend cap and you’ll get separate one-off or monthly charges for these. Home Tech Experts: available to all BT Halo 3 and BT Halo 3+ customers Our Home Tech Experts are trained to install, repair and optimise BT products and service. See BT Halo terms.Your latency will be a bit higher when gaming, and your speeds will generally be a bit less consistent than with a regular home broadband plan. There’s little difference in setting up either of these devices, and they both excel here – though so do other 4G and 5G home broadband routers. If you’ve ever had conventional broadband – such as fibre – installed then you’ll probably be familiar with what a headache that can sometimes be. It tends to involve a long wait followed by an engineer visit, but with the Three 4G Hub there’s none of that. So, while Three's network has fast speeds in some cities, this doesn't necessarily mean the good performance will be replicated everywhere and, since RootMetrics' research focuses on cities, it doesn't give any indication of rural mobile broadband performance. So 4G home broadband is slightly slower than most fibre connections, but still decently fast, while 5G home broadband can compete with the very fastest fibre options. What networksoffer4G and 5G home broadband?

Of course, it’s not always that bad. There’s no need to panic if you have a house move on the way. It’s going to be hard work, but careful planning will get you through. speeds vary by location, coverage and demand. Plans for use in fixed location only. 24 month min term. 4G coverage required. Being wireless, there’s also no need for a landline with 5G and 4G home broadband, which can make it cheaper than typical home broadband. And if you’re in an area where the broadband is slow then 4G home broadband has the potential to be faster – though that will depend on the strength and availability of 4G in the area. If you’ve set up a 4G router before then you’ll be in familiar territory here, and if not, you should still have no issues, as the ease of setup is one of the selling points of 4G routers, as you don’t need a landline (meaning you can also save money) and you don’t need an engineer to come out and hook your property up to the internet. You want to get the biggest SIM card – the standard-sized one. Be careful to avoid punching out the smaller micro or nano SIMs from the card.

How does it work?

As such, you could use mobile broadband in place of home broadband, but the number of devices you can get online at one time is often lower and data limits are often more restrictive, so it’s not ideal. Other than having to put a SIM card in this is all similar to the setup of most routers – except without the engineer visit that usually comes first to get the internet itself up and running.
