Freya was a great lead character with vulnerabilities everyone can relate to, her character showed so much growth. She even had to seek reassurance from Mac and her friends to understand that she was beautiful in her own right. I love that most designers would sketch beautiful women’s dresses or shoes but you sketch cat pyjamas and paw slippers.Mac and Freya's story is a spin-off from the Harris Brothers series, but can be read as a standalone. It isn’t like one of those friendships where the female character secretly pines away for her cute guy friend. I didn’t enjoy the last moment of angst because the characters always have to have a fall out in the end and oh how annoying that part is. From the beginning it is easy to see the strong bond between Mac and Freya and that remaining platonic best friends is not in their future. I had to DNF this book because it is one of the cringiest books ever with a highly unlikable heroine!

but honestly, i prefer characters who have insecurities because i prefer imperfect heroines over Mary Sue's any day. anyways, this was a really fun and easy read and if you don't mind some pet peeves that i know a lot of readers have (ex: virgin, inexperienced, and insecure h), then i definitely recommend this.I mean yeah, you can be inexperienced, but considering the circle she hangs with in London of all places, it’s just not believable that she is just so innocent. Blindsided is only my second Amy Daws book, and I really want to read all the Harris Brother's books! Body-shaming: Freya was sooo insecure about her body shape, I swear every couple chapter there was a remark about how her stomach wasn't flat. And please for the love of all that’s right in the world, if she refers to sex as “The sex” one more time.

I loved all the accents and I love when a voice fits a characters personality and Will Watt and Charlotte Cole fit like a glove. Freya is very hard on herself and doesn’t think she’s thin enough or pretty enough to be in a relationship due to her bad past experiences. Our stoic businessman/weekend daddy is totally deserving of some love and it comes in the form of his complete opposite, and employee!

They spend all their free time together watching Netflix, and just hanging out, but there has never been anything more than friendship. First I fell in love with Mac, then with their friendship, then I fell in love with Freya and finally I fell head over heels in love with their relationship. It's obvious these two love each other and want each other so it was no surprise the chemistry was there, and they were extremely comfortable together.Friends to more is my favorite trope and with Blindsided, Amy Daws has created an interesting story with engaging characters that come alive through the duet narration. this has the exact same tropes as Before Jamaica Lane (one of my all-time faves), where an "experienced" H teaches his "inexperienced" best friend, aka the h, anything that revolves around that dating, then that turns into sex lessons, then they fall in love, etc. Freya and Mac attend a gathering of their friends and with a little game of Never Have I Ever, a lot of drinking and a streak of jealousy, Mac discovers a couple of things about his Best Mate.
