Soundstage is not very big (expected in an IEM) but the stage definitely exists outside your head. I found the depth to be more than width. On paper, accessories are better on the Letshuoer Z12, but the modular cable appears to need to be more durable for frequent termination changes. Then again, the Z12 come with a good carrying case, so that’s a plus.

Disclaimer: the Letshuoer was sent to us free of charge by the brand , in exchange for our honest opinion. About Letshuoer The midrange is the least notable part of the of the S12 Pros’ presentation of music. That is not to say it falls short in anyway. Again, it is worth noting that your source and amplification play a part in how your music is presented. However, the presentation is delightful with full voices and instruments. The tuning gives you a soft yet silky presentation. Sonically, I recommend the Letshouer Z12 to those looking for the most exciting presentation. For a slightly more balanced tuning with the typical planar speed and resolution, the 7Hz Timeless are a good option. The overall tuning is balanced and natural with good sub-bass extension, an even mid-range and a well extended but not fatiguing treble. The first section of the frequency spectrum is the sub-bass. Everything below 80Hz is sub-bass, so generally, youEntirely made of aluminum, the Letshuoer S12 Pro is a revamp of the brand’s previous planar IEM, the… S12. A visual upgrade mostly as both share the same CNC-milled case, but the Pro model now comes with a deep blue finish, for a more premium look. It wouldn’t dare to say that they are bad-looking, but compared to products from BGVP, or even the latest FiiO FD11, the end-result is kinda… conservative. At the end of the frequency spectrum, we get to the Air region or the Top End. This region consists of everything With foam eartips, the treble performance of this IEM seems significantly more natural. Some might perceive it as veiled, but in my personal opinion, it sounds perfectly balanced, although your mileage may vary (YMMV). The details aren't as forward and pronounced as they are with the silicone tips, but they're still audible. Moreover, the clarity of both male and female vocals appears more natural and smooth compared to the more “aggressive” sound produced by silicone tips.

Then come the downsides. Planar timbre is noticeable throughout the treble region, characterized by a metallic “sheen” to cymbals and hi-hats. The emphasis between 5-8kHz can also add hints of sibilance. Clarity, layering and definition are above average while the bass is tight, fast and controlled with good timing.

The midbass region of the LetShuoer S12 Pro stands out with its fast and impactful response that is able retrain a good level of clarity and resolution that was pretty audible in songs like Gogo Penguin’s “Murmuration” and “Raven” or Charly Antolini’s “Duwadjuwandadu” that do have some fairly complex passages. Instruments such like a bass guitar, drums or trumpets are repoduced with a good sese of body and musicality. Hre are no negative conditions such like a midbass hump, mudiidnes or mixxings thanks to the well adjusted Planar Magnetic driver. OVERALL SOUND FOR THOSE IN A HURRY - VERY RICH DETAILED FULL BODIED SOUND WITH GREAT DETAILS AND DYNAMICS. Please do not be fooled by the "bright" sound signature label on the HPZ product detail section and think the sound is thin and tinny. Yes it is bright but the entire sound is very textured, juicy and dynamic (use foam tips if you are not willing to eq and want less treble). Great alternative for those wanting Timeless but not willing to spend 16k+. Even better results when applying EQ (google WAVELET for those with android devices or QUDELIX 5k dac amp). Surprisingly power efficient even despite the planar driver it’s carrying. I find myself not pushing too much gain to power these to get to my preferred volume. Planars like the S12 Pro really makes me think that with great implementation, you can get a planar that can be easily run. This is one of the problems I have on the S12 Pro that greatly influenced my experience with it. Despite being a universal fit, the overall shape of the S12 Pro doesn’t really sit well in my ear.

I have the 7Hz Timeless, Dioko and Hook-X. From all three, the Hook-X is the clear winner in term of sound quality, second place will be the Timeless and the last place is Dioko. The S12 Pros excel in its treble extension to my ears. The treble renders music with such openness but also very good resolution. What you get is shimmering, sparkle of minutia in your music, it just sounds great. As with the bass the treble stands out for the definition, naturalness, and decay of the notes. S12 is a pair of Hi-Fi Earphones created for music lovers. It is planar driver in ear monitors with wider stage, better clarity, faster transients, better treble extension and great resolution. It will be your best companion to your everyday music enjoyment. The P1 MAX is considerably smoother tuned and subdued from the upper-midrange to the treble so it sounds more inoffensive and forgiving than the S12 PRO. There is only one thing you could get for your Letshuoer S12 Pro: a good source like a DAC/AMP or a DAP, I’d suggest something small and simple like the KA5, iBasso’s DC04 Pro or ddHiFi TC44C.

Various sources were used like the iBasso DC03 Pro, iFi Go bar, Questyle M15, Shanling M0 Pro, and FiiO M11S among others. When using the foam eartips with this IEM, I personally find the sound much more accurate. The use of foam eartips doesn't significantly alter the signature, but it does eliminate the V-shaped sound prevalent when using the silicone tips. Foam tips tend to mitigate both bass and treble, resulting in a more balanced and natural sound. It's important to note, however, that the reduction in bass and treble is not drastic. The most noticeable change lies in the lows, as it's evident that the sub-bass is almost gone, but the highs remain present, maintaining their level of clarity and detail. Essentially, Z12 is identical to S12. With the very same metal shells housing a pair of single Magnetic Planar 14.8mm drivers. The difference, Z12 comes in anodized Red/Blue color scheme which makes it stand apart visibly. Instrument separation is precise and distinct with each instrument piping out clearly. The effect of that is that you get a mental image of the position of each instrument, which then lends to the perception of the stage. The stage is horizontally expansive and delightfully so. S12 Pro is one of the most engaging IEM I have ever listened to. It has a lush, warm and sparkly tonality, with tons of details sprinkled everywhere. The Bass is powerful but can feel a bit 'soft' in impact but it is very enjoyable nevertheless. The Mids are lush and clean and never felt recessed at all during my review. The treble is bright and shimmery. The treble on S12 used to be just a bit too much for me but S12 Pro reduces it enough to not be a problem anymore. It is bright but is like a perfectly done balancing act on an edge of a knife, it's just the perfect amount of treble if you like bright-sounding sets. The tone and timbre on this set might not be the most accurate but since this set sounds so coherent and fun to listen to that it hasn't ever remotely been a problem for me. If you are not A/Bing sets you will get used to it almost instantly. Though fans of classical music should try it for themselves before committing to this set.

The midrange is lush with sublime goodness, but are not forward (which for me makes them relaxing) again that also depends on your pairing. The highs are sparkly with great extension but do not get out of line to my ears, no sibilance. Here there is some consistency across amps and DACs, the highs do not change much with power. Stage is wide open, and you can pinpoint things easily even on busy songs, it has good depth and height as well. The separation of each instrument is clearly noticeable. The technicalities in general are much better than most in this price range.Planar IEMs seem to be what's hot nowadays. With just about every manufacturer using a type of planar magnetic driver for IEMs. For LETSHUOER, the planar IEM is not new but it is always a good sign for a manufacturer to reevaluate a design and improve a release for their audience. The Hook-X soundstage is a little bit like UM Mest MKII where it just envelope you. The Timeless and Dioko sounds closed in compare to the Hook-X.
