I'm also a fan of the short chapters! I'm often fitting a chapter in here and there, and that made it so much easier to do so. Platt is a new author to me, but I look forward to reading more from her in the future. it was also confusing because until the 80% mark, i had no idea who esme's HEA was, until it was vaguely spelt out for us. When Elliot and Esme decide to keep their former relationship a secret from those around them, their subterfuge sets off a chain of events which not only forces Esme to re-evaluate her past relationship with Elliot, but also puts her friendship with David under the microscope and under pressure. Further more, Esme realizes she actually has growing feelings for David, but there seems to be bad timing until Esme finally confronts her feelings!

Meanwhile, Geena and Elise get into an altercation in the woods. Geena continues to pressure Elise on her feeling about Lee. She is paranoid that her husband is still in love with Elise. About the Conclusion: At the end of the day, this story was about life, love, relationships, growth, and finding personal truths. Esme learned who she really was and discovered what she really wanted. Elliot showed his true colors. David became brave. And still, there was more.

Branded as "an utterly charming and funny romance," The Ex Next Door is a fun contemporary fiction that is great for fans of Sophie Kinsella or Mhairi McFarlane. Deadly Ex Next Door' will be airing on January 2, 2022, at 8 pm EST. You can watch the upcoming movie on the Lifetime channel. What is 'Deadly Ex Next Door' all about? It begins with Esme and a broken pipe which leads to an entirley new situation that's all encompassing. David is her biz partner but also a possible 'motivator' personally and professionally. What seems innocently enough in terms of a 2nd location to expand upon their already lively biz turns into a possible test of their relationship status as professionals as well as friends. I wanted to DNF this book from the halfway point, all the way through to the end. I just think so much of it was unhealthy and toxic. I was genuinely hate-reading this story. Katie takes Louisa to the golf club and brings up the whole dating her husband thing. Louisa tells Katie that it was nothing, but is clearly jealous. She goes home and cries in a bubble bath while holding a picture of her and Dan at a New Years event? To prove she is over Dan, or not. Louisa hires a male escort to pretend to be her boyfriend.

A turning point in the film occurs when the artist of children's books named Katie Greenwood learns that her new neighbor, Louisa Share, is not only interested in renewing the romantic relationship with her husband, Dan Greenwood, but that Louisa has adopted Katie's last name, which appears on items Katie discovers in Louisa's mailbox. Elise is manipulated into throwing a party with the couple; she writes a book about forgiveness and doesn’t want to be a hypocrite. The dinner is about as awkward you would think; Lee and Allan agree to go hunting together. Geena over drinks wine and insinuates that Lee and Elise still have love for one another. Since that man is dead, a sexy lady moves in next door. Katie brings over a fruit basket to welcome the new neighbor, but she isn’t home. Katie is an illustrator and children’s book writer and Dan just got a promotion at work. Katie goes golfing with her hot husband, Dan and they ponder who the new neighbor could be! The Ex Next Door, is described exactly as it is, an 'utterly charming and funny romance'. At first I thought the plot was predictably going where many romcoms have gone before but alas, I was pleasantly surprised when a few twists and turns derailed these thoughts early on, meaning I couldn't put it down until the end.Hot Chocolate Holiday' Review: Conflicts over recipe and love in air When will 'Deadly Ex Next Door' release and where to watch it? It's quite the treat to read especially having an ex-spouse in my real life named 'David' however, I tried not to let that thought overtake this book. Is it wise to simply keep the past relationship between Esme and Elliot in the past or should the new friendships surrounding their inner circle be made aware. It's not quite the hot guy next door but it's the ex next door trying to still think he's somehow relevant.

I thought the characters were extremely dull. Other than a description that both Elliot and David were attractive, I didn't read anything else about their character that wasn't spoken. I felt the same way about Esme at some points, but her banter with other characters saved that narrative. The ending I liked but it was rushed and we should have seen more instances that led up to that ending rather than just in the last 30% of the book. Besides murder, the “cabin in the woods” theme has been frequently observed in films involving horror and violence. A few examples include ‘Hush,’ ‘What Keeps You Alive,’ ‘The Strangers,’ and ‘The Cabin in the Woods,’ to name a few. The reason why it is a major part of pop culture is the prospect of having fewer options of making it out alive when the protagonist is alone in a secluded settlement in the woods. It naturally makes for a thrilling and suspense-inducing watch. There are two things I want to write about that brought my rating from a 4 to a 3. But first, I want to talk about the things I loved. At first, I wasn't loving this book. Though the writing style immediately gripped me, the romance was slowly losing my interest. There was barely any interaction with the "ex," whom I thought was the love interest for a good chunk of the book. As the story progressed, I began to hate the "ex" more and more, finding him to be the most insufferable, flattest love interest of all time. Turns out, I was looking in the wrong place because he was NOT the story's major love interest. When I say I gasped!!!! Platt played me successfully, and I totally should've seen it coming. I had theories, but I second-guessed myself for most of the book. Turns out, my favorite male character of the book is the love interest! Platt wrote the romance in such an interesting way, that I thought for sure Megan and David would end up together. However, when the MC began to realize her feelings for David, I squealed with joy. The seeds had been there all along and it made perfect sense. I absolutely LOVED the last 25% of the book--including the resolution. It was a such a fantastic "switcheroo," and turned the story into a beautiful "friends to lover" romance, rather than a "second chance" romance like I immediately thought. (I went in blind!). One of the things that captured my attention about this lovely book was the book title and the book cover. (I'm counting them as one, of course.) The title snagged my interest simply because of what it implies. I was immediately considering all sorts of romantic formulas based on the "perfect title." The cover seemed so playful and fun; it was lighthearted, even. I just knew, based on the cover, that this book would be special.
