You’d think the back case would prevent this, but the L and R buttons have some free room to roam, and if they didn’t the stick would hit a stop. Minor quibbles aside I do think this is a much better controller comfort-wise when compared to the original. One thing I didn't love was having the Z button on both triggers but this will just take some time getting used to as I still try to use it like the standard pad. They're both responsive and have a solid tactile feel, similar to what you'd find on today's high-end controllers.I can get used to that, but I think it could be better if the A/B buttons had a different texture in this format so it’s easier to tell them apart by feel. Whatever Nintendo’s approach was with it, be it designed solely to play Super Mario 64 or just try to separate itself from the rest of the controller crowd, it has ended up as rather infamous.

On top of all that, it can also be used on a PC by plugging it into a USB port, which opens up the options for the controller even further still. Each button on this controller is very responsive, including the Z button that has now been transitioned to a trigger on both the left and right side of the controller - very similar feel to the L2 and R2 triggers on a PlayStation 4 controller (which is a very good thing in my opinion). The plastic used feels nice with its matte finish, but as usual with surface finishes like this, it’ll rub off on the long run and becomes shiny and slippery. I do find on my PC that Retoarch is not easy to set up with different controllers for different cores. Each movement is very responsive and I did not feel any dead space with the joystick, making precise movements very easy.Best third party controller on the market really doesn't pull you out of the game at all, certainly as far as the joystick is concerned it's just miles above the OG. Personally, I’ve replaced all of my PS4 and Wii U Pro controller analogue sticks with the Xbox One sticks because they have so much more grip. To cut to the chase, it’s not very good as a general controller, and its shape doesn’t exactly fit the hand as intended. I once have thought that the original N64 controller was the only way to go until you guys came along!

I initially purchased it to use for my first playthrough of Goldeneye 007 but since I have found it to be a great choice not only for N64 games but also SNES, Genesis, and even Dreamcast games! Due to the wireless technology, the memory paks are loaded into the included wireless dongle and are not inserted into the controller itself.

Any info would be great because I just love your product and honestly can’t wait to get my hands on more. It's very smooth when playing and has some extra buttons such as "Turbo" and "Clear" which come in very handy when wanting to map something as your hot key/select etc.

These securily keeps the dongles from sagging down possibly causing issues with your Nintendo 64 controllers ports over time. While I doubt I’ll use it as a pro controller, that button is great for being able to access X/Y button functionality that doesn’t exist on the N64 controller. Goldeneye, Quake 1 and 2, Star Fox, Road Rash for example were all fantastic - works well in FPS games and racing games alike. Despite the omission of rumble capabilities I believe this controller to be the best purchase for those who want a wireless n64 one.
