If your TV doesn't have a 3.5mm input, you could buy an RCA-3.5mm adaptor and hook the headphones up to the TV's stereo RCA outputs. Can I use AirPods with my TV? Sennheiser RS 175 is worth buying if you want to set up a system in your home that ensures surround sound. The status LED turns red, and you will hear a beep sound from the headphone when the battery is almost empty.

First things first let’s talk about the wireless transmission itself. Opting for a type of digital wireless transmission instead of the traditional Radio Frequency means that they can send a higher quality of signal and keep things even more crisp and spatially accurate whilst still maintaining the allure of being able to move from room to room. Confusingly, digital wireless transmission is considered “Line of Sight” meaning that technically the sender should be able to see the headphones. In practice though not only does Sennheiser state you can move from room to room but I’ve even tried them and had no issue, so I’m not really sure why they’ve stated it. The build quality of RS 175 is decently strong. The headband is made with a thin metal frame and is moderately flexible. The cushion of 185 has a premium look with velour-covered earpads. On the other hand, the 175 earpads get dense after using them for a few weeks. I think this comparative section will help you understand the differences more deeply. Compare with Other Headphones Film dialogue was crisp through the RS 175, and with Bass mode on or off, the headphones pumped out plenty of rumble when watching modern TV and movies. Surround mode can make dialogue sound pretty unnatural, though—voices outdoors in the middle of fields got the same ambient-sounding reverb as if they were in a room. I recommend leaving the Surround mode off, but there's no reason you can't test it out and see if you personally like the effect. This system allows two people to listen to the same program individually with two headphones simultaneously. Compared to many of the other parts of the wireless headphone world, the category dedicated to home theatre performance is pretty niche. Prices valid in stores (all including VAT) until close of business on 28th November 2023. (Some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you've seen these offers online.) Compared to the RS 175, they are made of higher-quality materials, which is easy to see if you place the two headphones side by side for comparison. Their plastic parts look and feel less cheap than that of the RS 175 while their earpads have a better cover material. Furthermore, their headband is covered with artificial leather for a more premium look, unlike the RS 175 which have a purely plastic headband exterior.

Set the digital audio output of your device/audio source to "PCM" with a maximum sampling frequency of 96 kHz. The control options are placed in the earcups for both models that let you enjoy your program without needing to get up from your couch. 2. Sennheiser RS 175 vs. 195 The RS 165 has only BASS mode and analog input. But with RS 175 you have both BASS and surround sound mode with analog and digital input options. The RS 175 and the RS 185 are both primarily made of plastic, which contributes to their relatively lightweight frames. Their ear cups feel sturdy and durable while their headbands – which are metal-reinforced – don’t creak alarmingly when being adjusted. The battery slots hidden behind their earpads are also well-secured. However, the more expensive RS 185 are better-built overall and look more premium. I think you already have a massive idea about Sennheiser 175 by now. Are you confused about whether to buy it or not? The Sennheiser RS175 is not Bluetooth headphones. It uses radiofrequency to deliver sound from the transmitter to your ears.
