Like Rosie, Alex really did mature as well. But there was one thing that didn't change about the young and the old Alex.. Ahaha. How he spells his "know". Despite his age, he still spells it as "no". As she gets older her relationship with Toby changes and it teaches Rosie about her real feelings for Alex.

Pacing wise, I was hooked and desperately needed to find out what happens with Rosie and Alex!!! If you read this book and you did not want them to be together then we MUST have read a different book because I routed for these two from the very start! Rosie and Alex has been best friends ever since they could remember. They've been through a lot. They hade their fair share of happy, sad, and mostly embarassing moments at school, even arguments actually (Rosie got really upset when Alex didn't invite her to his birthday.. That was hilarious). The side characters were so cute and I loved them all. I loved Ruby and her siblings and his siblings and Katie and Josh as well. The answer to the question right above my spoiler tag? Apparently you can ignore that little voice inside your head until you are F-ING FIFTY!!!! 50! Greg Collins: A minor character in the book who marries Rosie. It soon becomes apparent that Greg is not right for Rosie and he is unfaithful to her. Rosie - Rosie is the main protagonist of the story. She is a sassy (Oh man - the sass is so strong) and a strong-willed young mother who finds that her life goes more like one of those windy and vomit-inducing roller coasters than those basic, 'You go up, you go down, then you arrive at the ending slightly scared, exhilarated, and wishing to do it all again'. There were plenty of times where I just wish that something went well for her, for once, but her life was one of realistic disappointments and glimmers of hope. She is such a beautiful character; one who is thinking of others even though inside all she wants to do is for once, be selfish and do something for herself. Her love and care for Katie reminded me of my mum's towards me. And I oddly resonated with her when she was 18-19 and not knowing what to do with her life, albeit I don't have a baby at 18 and she did. That uncertainty, the fear of 'I don't know what I'm doing and now I realise that no one else does either', is crippling. Watching her jump from job to job also related to me at this time in my life, and it was surprisingly insightful for a rom-com genred book. She was a fleshed out character that came to life during these tragedies and hardships that she dealt with, and the more things that happened to her the more I'd tear up with her. She is one of my favourite female protagonists :)

It took a long time, but the ending just made me really happy, contented, and just... i dunno how to explain it. It made me believe that if two people are meant to be together, fate will find a way for them to be. You never received that letter and I’m glad because my feelings since then have changed dramatically. They have intensified with every passing day. I am not scared any more, Rosie. I am not afraid to try. I no what the feeling was at your wedding - it was jealousy. My heart broke when I saw the woman I love turning away from me to walk down the aisle with another man, a man she planned to spend the rest of her life with. It was like a prison sentence for me - years stretching ahead without me being able to tell you how I feel or hold you how I wanted to.

A film adaptation of the book was released in October 2014. It was directed by Christian Ditter, and stars Lily Collins as Rosie Dunne and Sam Claflin as Alex Stewart.
