Description

Despite his cruel nature, Lord Loss is not entirely evil; by the standards of the Demonata he could even be considered a "good guy". Lord Loss is seen again at the final battle, where he is blasted and temporarily paralysed by Grubbs. He has little choice, considering what shocking events take over his everyday life but he manages to deal with these horrors and even fight back.

He gained an attraction to the game after seeing Drust with the Original Chess Board, a gift from the Old Creatures. This disturbing tale in the supernatural, zombie/horror genre has a refreshingly inventive storyline and credible and likeable protagonists the reader can really root for. Anyway I remember reading this series when I was about 13/14 and really liking it (all of the disembowelling helped :D). As Grubbs begins to settle down, he meets and befriends Bill-E Spleen, another orphan who visits Dervish often to learn magic. The book repeats the formula of The Saga of Darren Shan and will no doubt be loved by Shan's many fans.Instead of having legs, strips of bloody flesh hang from the edge of stumps where his feet would normally be shown, and so he moves about by levitating. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. His books have been read by millions of people around the world and translated into more than 25 languages. That teens would be unable to relate to a story entirely about a badass demon-fighting protagonist with a burning urge to stay alive and that it would be a better idea to tone it down for a few chapters so that teens could read instead about a protagonist doing exciting things like watch movies with a friend in his living room?

He can also feel some genuine attachment towards others and is genuinely devastated when Juni Swan is killed.A suprise in a way that it was so uniquely different from everything I have ever read that I found myself reading it entirely through in the one sitting. Despite this it turns out that he is actually one of the weaker Demon Masters, though he later becomes the strongest Demon Master after Grubbs, Bec and Kernel remake the universe. He is the only Demon Master that somehow is free to travel between the Demon universe and the human universe by Windows. The only way to cure him is by winning three out of five simultaneous chess games with the powerfully magical demon master Lord Loss while another person battles his familiars. However, he did not wish any of the group that destroyed the tunnel to live (although Bran survived).

In this world the demons don’t lurk in the shadow but have torn through all of society, trailing devastation and horror in their wake.I started this series after reading "Darren Shan Saga" and while I expected something different and distinct, I wasn't expecting so much originality and uniqueness. Lord Loss also seems to have a sense of arrogance, particularly when it comes to his skill at chess, but at the same time he has shown signs of cowardice. Lord Loss makes no apperance, he is only mentioned, this is the only one where he does not show up at all, though he does send Juni Swan. Kernel was responsible for turning Lord Loss's familiar (Artery) into a human (Art), which led to Kernel discovering his powers.
