I don’t usually read war thrillers, but... ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I thought this would be a great book to share with my dad, so we can discuss it. ♥️ Lead is the first metal which burns with a bright red color that can last up to several minutes, depending on the amount of oxygen present in the flame. While it’s already drawn comparisons to Tom Clancy’s Red Storm Rising (1986), Red Metal boasts even more action and tension, reading like a modern-day Game of Thrones (without the dragons and White Walkers), as individuals go all-in fighting for their cause —often with little regard for the rest of the world. Much like George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy saga, Greaney and Rawlings rely more on their characters to drive the story than the explosions, gunfights, and eye-candy, of which there is still plenty. The wargaming is impressive to be sure, but it all works as well as it does because the characters are so well fleshed out, and the conflict so perfectly captured. Don’t think too long on the political reality of this situation or you may wonder who in their right mind would authorize this madness. Rather, go with the flow, follow the battlefield methods laid out by Rawlings (with more than 22 years experience in commanding Marines in all situations) and Greaney. The action is intense, the emotions real, and the National Pride that comes into play will have you cheering for the citizen soldiers who try to defend their country against the evil invaders. Red metals, such as copper, bronze, and brass, are used in a variety of applications because of their unique properties.

However, it is important to note that the color of a metal can be affected by various factors, such as the type of finish applied to the metal, the presence of other elements or compounds, and the lighting conditions. From construction and architecture to telecommunications and machinery, there is no denying the importance red metals have in our daily lives. Yet, for being some of the most important metals in existence, knowledge about red metals is pretty rare. Interestingly, many of these type stories adopt the same chapter format. That is, many very short chapters, each from a different character’s POV describing a different aspect of the combat: air, sea, land, cyber and near space. Many times these contributing characters are Red Shirts. Advanced weapons systems, and high technology along with modern military strategy and tactics with a veneer of a story are always involved. This book follows that tradition.A desperate Kremlin takes advantage of a military crisis in Asia to simultaneously strike into Western Europe and invade east Africa in a bid to occupy a Rare Earth mineral mine that will give Russia unprecedented control for generations over the world’s hi-tech sector. Brass, for example, is created when adding varying amounts of zinc to copper. Depending on the zinc content, different qualities of brass can be created and used for different applications. The more zinc that is added to the mixture, the stronger, more ductile, and lighter in color the metal becomes. Brass is commonly used in architecture for its decorative features as well as in manufacturing, construction, electrical, and plumbing industries.

The color of the light emitted by the metal is determined by the energy of the absorbed photons and the energy gap between the ground state and excited state of the electrons. In addition to its various applications, copper is used to creating red metal's brass and bronze. As red metal alloys, brass and bronze both consist of mixing copper with other alloying elements. By now, you should have a solid idea of what red metals are and how they are made, but here comes the big question: why do we continue to use them?

Deoxidized Copper: as the name suggests, the oxygen in this type of copper is removed. This gives itthe ability to be brazed or welded without fear of embrittlement. Deoxidized copper is generally found in building construction, used in central heating systems, tubes for gas and water supply, and sheeting for roofs. When weathered, these coppers form what is known as patina (green or brown film produced by prolonged weathering) and are often admired for their aesthetic effects. Brass is created when varying amounts of zinc are added to copper. The amount of zinc added to the mix will determine which alloy is made within the red metal manufacturing process. The increased amounts of zinc are added to give brass increased strength and ductility while also creating a lighter hue. As copper alloys, brass and bronze both contain their own unique manufacturing processes that depend upon the desired shape and properties of the metals. The typical production of both requires heating and cooling processes where copper and specific amounts of alloying elements are melted, mixed, and cast for the final application. Common Types of Red Metals

Copper can be difficult to ignite and may require a strong source of heat, such as a blowtorch, to get it to burn. When it does burn, copper may produce a blue-green flame, a red flame, or a combination of both, depending on the conditions. All this and China is threatening Taiwan with military action if the results of an up-coming election does not go the mainland’s way. Brass is known for its corrosion resistance and malleability, making it a popular choice for decorative items, musical instruments, and engineering components. This is the type of book that you would probably want to read more than once. With so much action and activity scattered throughout the world, it’s hard to absorb every nuance of this incredible novel.Secondly, I have spent several years amongst U.S. and allied soldiers, sailors and airmen, both officers and rankers. I’m also familiar with several US weapon systems, a few of which appeared in the narrative. I also fancy myself an amateur military historian and armchair general. This makes me somewhat more critical of the authors, than most folks. This phenomenon makes it a popular choice for decorative purposes such as jewelry, artwork and even architecture since its appearance can be easily altered by simply altering its environment. How are Red Metals Made? I was reading some additional information regarding how these two authors met and how the idea for the story came together. The incredible knowledge of these two men became evident in several conversations they had together and the project seemed to come together easily.
