The nib unscrews This style seems to be one of the harder ones to get ink moving on for me, but doing so isn't overly difficult. I am embracing the Valentine's Day vibe with an all-red-and-pink palette with pink floral washi and flower stickers as well as color matching my pens and inks. I’m a big fan of quality and I know there are highly talented people in most countries of the world that can make a high quality pen if given the resources and direction to do so. The converter is better constructed than the Jinhao and contains a silicone ball to keep ink flowing.

The grip is smooth black plastic with a rounded reinforcing ring at the end where the nib inserts into the grip. Secondly, I liked the checkered design and I’ve realized that more recent models of this style have a higher quality pattern. jinhao nibs are great, the flow tends to be kind of inconsistent though, starting hyper wet and then getting dryer and dryer. I have acquired 2 other Jinhao pens (different models) with medium nibs and I'm curious to see if those perform better.This was an unplanned purchase but while I was browsing the web a few months ago I came upon these Chinese pens and noticed that brands like Jinhao and Hero have a huge variety of designs. Yes my X750 has been inked up with Diamine Pumpkin, my new favorite orange, for a couple of weeks now. Yong modifies a number of Chinese pen models so if an Eight Horses doesn’t appeal to you, perhaps another style will. The design doesn’t really speak to me but for the money I had to give one a try and as I reviewed I was impressed.

I wish the Jinhaos I have had a better converter and a way to get them into a finer nib then their medium. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.I’m using the word hostile intentionally as during the week I was reviewing this pen I posted a picture of the nib on a group’s page on Facebook and the comments quickly turned to someone saying, “Only someone with the taste of an American could appreciate such a nib. Right now I'm writing with a Preppy with a medium nib, which is more like the B on my TWSBI :) It's also very smooth. The copper model looks good with Diamine Golden Brown, Noodler’s Golden Brown, Private Reserve Copper Burst, J. Maybe it’s something about the sharp corners that limits the flow and maybe the paper isn’t as awful as it seems. The nib is also stainless steel and is etched, which makes it my only pen that has anything other than the brand and some basic information on the nib.
