Description

Note: In two or three player games, only one of the Double-Routes can be used. A player can claim either of the two routes between cities, but the other route is then closed to the other players for the remainder of the game It's really easy to understand, it's super fast-paced because you can only do one thing on your turn (draw new cards or claim a route), and it still gives the brain a nice workout if you like to play tactically. Volume 3: The Heart of Africa (2012). The Heart of Africa introduces Terrain cards, which give a bonus when claiming a route if you also have the terrain cards to match it.

NOTE: If a player has any Train Stations left in their reserve after the game has ended, they will be rewarded with 4 points per Train Station when it’s time for scoring. Starting the Game Place the European Express Bonus and the Summary card, face up, next to the board, as a reminder to the players. A continuous path may include loops, and pass through the same city several times, but a given plastic train may never be used twice in the same continuous path. Similar to the original's 10th-anniversary edition, a larger map of Europe was released in 2021. This edition includes detailed train sets in metal tin boxes and train cards designed for the event. The green train set was removed and replaced by pink ones. It also features the destination cards from the original game, Europe 1912, Orient Express, and a promo card, bringing the count to 108.Ferries are special Gray routes linking two adjacent cities across a body of water. They are easily identified by the Locomotive icon(s) featured on at least one of the spaces making the route. Locomotive cards can be played along with any set of cards when claiming a route. They are also vital to claiming Ferry routes (see Ferries). Alan R Moon took his original design and fine tuned it with new mechanisms and a more restrictive map covering the whole of Europe at the start of the 20 th Century. Build train lines from Lisboa all the way up to Petrograd or from Edinburgh down to Athena. The restrictive map does not make this a harder game as you can now use Ferries to cross the sea, Tunnels to go through mountains and Train Stations which allow you to use part of another players line. draw two railway car cards in various colours from the draw piles (with the restriction that drawing a wild Locomotive card face up forfeits drawing another card), or When claiming a route, the number of points received depends upon the length of that route, as detailed in the table below.

The last round is triggered as soon as any player has 2 or fewer train cars left. Each player (including the player who triggered the game end) gets one final turn; then, scoring begins. A player may claim any open route on the board. He is never required to connect to any of his previously played routes. To build his second station, a player must play a set of two cards of the same color, and to build his third station a set of three cards of the same color.

Game Play

The game won numerous awards after being released, including the 2004 Spiel des Jahres (game of the year). [31] Volume 1: Asia - Team Asia and Legendary Asia (2011). Team Asia allows 6 player games, on teams of two, while Legendary Asia introduces Mountain Routes.
