Description

Stove fans do not work in the same way as cold fans by blowing gusts of air. They instead create a consistent airflow moment which you probably do not feel, but you notice that the room is much more evenly heated. This also means the room heats up in a fraction of the time it would take when not using a stove fan. Can you use a stove fan if you don’t have a flap stove top? We don’t believe in hype, with Valiant you can be sure that the product you are buying is fit for the purpose it has been designed for. We don’t overstate the product features but rather present the facts and let the working products speak for themselves. Valiant don’t pass on cheaper imported products. With Valiant, quality is in the design. WHERE YOU CAN SHOP Most stove fans are designed to sit directly on top of the wood burner, but they shouldn’t be placed too close to the flue pipe – unless of course you buy a flue pipe fan, which are specifically designed to be fitted to the flue pipe and are particularly useful if your wood burner doesn’t have a suitable flat top for a standard fan. Do stove fans need batteries? This makes it perfect for stoves with sloping, irregular surfaces or simply where you don’t have sufficient space above your stove. It is also suitable for flat-top stoves that just don’t come up to a high enough temperature (cool tops).

The Valiant Premium iV stove fan offers some fantastic features such as a starting temperature of just 45C, a 2-year warranty and also cuts the fan out as the temperature of the stove decreases. The carry handles enable hassle-free portability. This is a useful feature on this extra-large fan. Finally, this product is covered by a two-year warranty which is in line with the Valiant stove fans. ProsThis stove fan is pretty quiet and won’t distract you whilst watching TV, reading a book or chatting with someone. Want to make your existing log burner more efficient? Bring home the TOMERSUN triple blade stove fan and enjoy the fuel savings.

Most stove fans will start to work at around 50° to 65°C, while the maximum temperature is usually around 340°C. Many stove fans give an optimum operating range that starts 25°C or so higher than the starting temperature. How long is the warranty that the stove fan comes with? Many stove fans are considerably bigger, and they look like table fans. Ideally, you shouldn’t buy them as they take too much space. Go for the fans that have a compact and sleek design. They not only take less space but also look stylish. You should consider the overall aesthetics of your fireplace before buying the fan. Make sure the fan looks nice on your fireplace. Dimensions The Valiant Premium IV 4-Blade Heat Powered Log Burner & Stove Fan is one of the best fans you will ever come across. It may look small with 199 mm height, but it works like a beast. Its uniquely-engineered design comes with advanced radiating fins that generate more than 70% airflow than its competitors. Features

Had been researching stove fans for a while, but didn’t jump at buying until I could find one that would fit our stove. This is very compact, and possibly one of the smallest (according to Valiant) on the market right now. Out of the box, there is nothing to set up, just pop it on the stove, and within a few minutes, it will start to spin. If you have not yet got one, I would suggest getting a stove thermometer. The fan itself is not totally quiet, you will hear a whirring noise, especially as it speeds up, but its not annoying. There is a bi-metal device on the bottom to prevent it from overheating, should the surface temperature get too hot. It works by literally lifting the fan up off the hot surface, but I would remove it if the safety device cuts in. Does it work? I think it does. At first, we thought its not pushing out much heat, but it works on movement of air – convection, rather than a force blow like a fan heater. The stove might appear cooler, but the room is definitely warmer, I would say by up to 30% more. For us, that is a huge difference. The optimum effect is reached around 200 – 250 degrees C, but it works at much lower temps. The unit is fairly robust, the fan is well made, if anything the unit could be a little on the light side, but its so compact, this will fit on any stove. Its also something of a talking point, as its a mystery to some how it works. With no batteries! 2 year warranty, which is good, and I think, we’ll be putting less wood on the stove, and that’s what really matters. So, how all these stove fans work is the base of the fan conducts the heat from the stovetop and converts it to electricity, this is what powers the blades. A stove fan placed on top of a wood burning stove can help disperse the heat more evenly. Once the stove fan is placed on top of the wood burning stove and the temperature of the stove reaches a certain temperature (as stated in the specifications above) the stove fan begins to spin. A stove fan has many benefits. First, it helps in circulating warm air spreads warmth in your entire room. You don’t have to sit in front of the fireplace to enjoy the heat. Second, it cuts firewood costs. You will require less firewood because of the constant airflow into the fireplace. A fireplace works efficiently when it gets constant air supply. A stove fan can provide that air supply for long hours.
