If you don't have a rug and just want a heated foot mat, no problem! There is a simple solution. The FootBuddy heated foot mat uses the same brilliant technology as RugBuddy and gives you an easy all-in-one solution. Stay warm, think better

The surface of the rug then radiates gentle warmth to other surfaces around the room including your clothes and skin. One thing you can’t do with any of these under rug floor heaters is use them outside. If you want a similar device for outdoors, consider a heated snow melting mat instead. It will be far more durable, and can stand up to the weather. 4. OLYDON Electric Heated Floor Mat Please note: If using the Rugbuddy on a tiled or screeded floor, we recommend using carpet underlay underneath for thermal efficiency. This can also be bought at any carpet or flooring supplier. Jute, felt and foam underlays are most suited for this purpose. Before we wrap up, let’s talk about the basics of under rug radiant heaters. How do they work, and what should you expect from them? The RugBuddy is available in four sizes: 93” x 63”, 81” x 58”, 58” x 34”, and an 89” x 22” runner pad. RugBuddy recommends taping the corners of the pad to your rug pad to keep it in position. As with the previous mat, power is provided by an 8-foot cord. A pair of on/off buttons are located on a fob near the plug. An indicator light will illuminate when the coil is active.

The RugBuddy only costs a few pence per hour to run. For example, a typical 125 x 160cm size is 250 Watts and costs just 4p per hour. That’s 1/8th (12.5%) the cost of a running a fan heater! RugBuddy electric heater: While not specifically designed for use outside the home, the RugBuddy works exceptionally well as a foot warmer in any environment where you’ve got a mains hook-up. Rated at 120 Watts per square metre, the RugBuddy is as powerful as domestic underfloor heating but, uniquely, is also safe to put on any floor surface.

One of the main reasons people buy area rugs is to keep their feet warm. Nobody wants to step out of bed and directly onto cold hardwood. The same is true for walking around in any room, or any solid flooring surface. A rug just doesn’t feel as cold underfoot as solid materials. This is normally effective, but what if your floors are truly frigid?Of course, there are more things we need to consider before we render our verdict. Let’s dig deeper, and see what we come up with! 1. RugHeat Under Rug Heating Mat Electric underfloor heating is ideal for carpet as long as the tog values don't exceed the maximum recommended tog value William was very helpful, discussing with me how best to use a RugBuddy on the type of floor we have (wood on top of a concrete base) and what size Rug Buddy and underlay would be best for the space I had and how we were going to use it. that open plan areas with multiple floor coverings will need more than one thermostat. 5.
