Pressure Adjustment - The Cricut AutoPress can automatically adjust the pressure it uses on materials. Traditional clamshell or swingarm heat presses will often use a crank or height adjustment screw to alter the pressure, which can be difficult to use and get to the perfect setting. When you close down the lid of the AutoPress, the machine will automatically adjust to the pressure you have set.

Please note: The product requires activation with the Cricut Heat app and a compatible internet-connected mobile device. When hat is placed over the hat pressing form, smooth the hat against the hat form so that there are no air gaps between hat and the form; air gaps will result in unwanted transfer effects Make sure you’re holding the press perpendicular to the pressing surface. It should be straight down so you can see your design is being covered by the heat plate. It should not be angled so you can apply the appropriate pressure.

Beware of brims touching the heat press, as constant movement against a hat brim or bill can cause deformation. But if you’re a full-time craft business owner who uses a heat press to make the majority of your items, the Cricut AutoPress is a must-have bit of kit.

Both Cricut EasyPress and Cricut Autopress work on similar types of projects, but if you’re finding yourself making a lot of heat projects, you may want something a little more automated. That’s where Cricut Autopress comes in. Use Strong Heat Resistant Tape to secure your design to the hat – tape one side of the design down, smooth the design across the pressing area so it’s flat and taut against the hat, then tape the remaining sides. This ensures there are no air gaps between your design and the hat and keeps your design in place during transfer. Clip or notch liner/paper around the design where applicable to allow it to flex over the curved surface of the hat Especially in the areas you plan to press a design, press firmly and smooth the hat against the Hat Pressing Form so that there are no air gaps between the hat and Hat Pressing Form — air gaps may result in unwanted transfer effects.
