And even though i am 13 and i have read all the Gone books (Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, and fear) multiple times i still would not. Eddie Flynn is the one person who believes the actor accused of killing his wife and her body guard is innocent. Brooks is a pro at building suspense even if it plays out in some rather spectacularly yucky episodes, one involving a short spear that takes its name from “the sucking sound of pulling it out of the dead man’s heart and lungs. Though Flynn is hardly alone among crime-fiction heroes in struggling to win back his wife and child, he's pretty enjoyable.
