After a lot of deliberation I finally did it. I cut the cord off my jigsaw and soldered on a plug-it connector. Immediately continue working even with a damaged cable, as the cable can be replaced with a single hand movement Definitely an oversight by festool IMO. For the amount of engineering they invest you'd think this wouldn't be a problem. NOTE: I'm no expert on Deros sanders but I'm sure I read somewhere that it's a standard IEC connector; please don't take my word for it though)

You cut and strip a bit off the end of the power cord. Strip the cord of the plug it connector and simply solder them together. In which case I'm with Edward - buy a second cable and leave it permanently connected to the boom arm and have both it and a Plug-It attached to an extension lead that is *then* plugged into the CT. Now let's look at the Plug-It conversion on the left, along side the 16 ga. heavy-duty Festool Plug-It cord which is included with TS-75 and other 'higher-current' machines on the right: Yep, I screwed that one up really well. You are absolutely correct! I have a great deal of difficulty with electricity and electrical specifications. I was thinking incorrectly it was 14 awg and 16 awg where, as you indicated it's 16 awg and 18 awg. Thanks for straightening this out, and you can see from the title of my post where I called the male end the female. Oh well.

put PowerCon Female connector on a new, 3 wire power cord. This must be normal power cord in your country, suitable for watts / amperage of desired use. Length as needed. The Kapex is 1600w, and potentially could draw more current than a plug-it can handle, so you shouldn't do it.I changed the single gang extension lead on my CT with boom arm to a double one using the following; Premiums were set to rise anyway since congress mandated that the NFIP become self-sustaining over the next few years, & I do not expect my fellow tax-payers to subsidize my choices/risks. The issue for us is that they moved the goal posts and I can't comply with the driven pilings if I wanted to.

I hope this answers all of your questions on which Plug-It conversion kit you want, what you will get, and how it will work. It is my intent that it serve as 'the' definitive reference document for anyone who wants to learn more about Plug-It conversions. Here is a link to what I believe might be the connector you are looking for: http://www.onlinecomponents.com/datasheet/h320c.aspx?p=11518130 The green cords are designed to REPLACE the cords coming out of your other power tools, converting them to 'Plug-It' compatibility. Festool doesn't make just a 'Plug-It' end for the tool side that can be attached to the existing cord coming out of the tool. Since the instructions here are for using the products (Plug-It conversion-kits) only AS INTENDED, I hope there would not be an issue with it. I am not suggesting that anyone modify their Festool products, but rather pointing out that they can modify other products to better integrate with the Festool system of Plug-It cords. But only:If it had been "possible" I would have done it. I am not saying it is impossible though, but it would require a lot of work. Wires inside double insulated powertools don't have to follow the same rules as set for the mains net ( I think). Sorry that I didn't catch this sooner. The part number is 489685, clearly shown in the first post - but if you were scanning in a hurry you might not have known that those were UK numbers and not US ones. I have been VERY careful to only post information and practices that are supported by Festool. Because Festool doesn't specifically offer such a connector, I believe it is against the forum rules to post or discuss such a modification as it would apply the product in a manner that it was not intended, and potentially expose the user to dangerous voltages and possibly unsafe electrical connections.

Here is a Lerdge X Conversion Kit for Flying Bear Ghost 4S. I guess it can be used for other printers also. For the 491144 plug it conversion-kit, in the seventh and eighth picture it shows screws holding the pigtail together, is it possible to take the screws out and change the green wire to part of the original cord on my other tools? Or is the pigtail not able to be taken apart like the ends on a factory plug it cord? I understand the Mirka has a transformer inline with the cable? I presume to convert it to plug it you'd be looking to take the wires out of the "plug" end of the transformer? Not as elegant a solution with the Mirka as you still have a lot of cable with a transformer on it, probably why people don't bother.

Samo Not sure if this is what you are looking for don't have part number but hopefully the pics will help I wish they'd allow dealers to substitute a 16 ga on request (for a small fee, if necessary) when you buy a new tool. Similar to the way you can substitute a 'Holey' rail for the standard one.
