The result is a fragrance, which is more gourmand than floral, even though brings gorgeous shades of roses. And although the evolution of a feminine perfume is always different on the skin of a woman than a man, unfortunately, I thought it was just too much going on in this composition. It is very sweet, it takes a lot to evolve and has a very strong appearance of syrup, which only started to fade away after about 3 hours of application. I don't know how a fragrance house can make me semi-psychotic about getting a bottle of almost cherry-flavoured medicine, but Guerlain win that particular trophy. I'm 24 almost 25 a mom of two boys under 3 years old. I have a big perfume collection most of which are sweet younger scents. I want to try guerlain because I've heard so many good things about the company. This one seemed safest to try out first. It's a powdery cherry that fades from being tart to sweet to tart again. It's beautiful the way it develops. I absolutely love it. It seems sophisticated while being youthful at the same time. It's really different from anything I've tried. I don't get much licorice in this. Just a hint of it here and there more so further in the drydown. Musk is another note that can be powdery, if you see musk and rose listed together in a fragrance, the fragrance is likely to be at least somewhat powdery, although it could also lean more soapy or creamy. Violet and Iris are the true dead giveaways for a powdery fragrance. Also a slight hint of powder that might be from the iris, but I feel this is what gives it an old-school femme fatale vibe to it. I feel like I should be carrying a long cigarette holder while wearing this (I don't smoke).

Predominantly, this is a fruity gourmand. Veeeery small amount of floral. It's also super-synthetic, but in the best possible way. I think I prefer this to BP, BP doesn't last nearly as long or as potent as this does with my skin chemistry. The leather is an elegant touch but it's a much softer alternative to the original. To be perfectly honest, they both smell SO similar you wouldn't really know the difference without having them side by side!PRICE: It's definitely up there in price, but it's not the most expensive you'll find on the market. It's much cheaper than brands like Frederic Malle, Byredo & Diptyque for EDPs. I do not associate them with femme fatale, but rather with a young woman in spirit, self-confident and enjoying the moment. The house of Guerlain launched an exclusive and limited edition La Petite Robe Noire in February 2009. In February 2011, it also presented the second limited edition of the line—La Petite Robe Noire 2. In early 2012, Guerlain decides to relaunch the debut and to offer the fragrance to a broad market. The new La Petite Robe Noire is modified, developed by the in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser.

The output is very potent and it doesn't fade in about 30 minutes, as most of the fragrances. It manages to stay alive and even overlap at heart notes. So, on my skin, I haven't seen almost nothing of roses or tea. What's left was a very medicinal aroma, combined with a nuance of liquorice, which could be improved, and only after a long time, the base began holding the strange and sweet fragrance and turned out to be more balanced, mature and creamy. Then, it became easier to perceive the presence of vanilla and patchouli.Don't get me wrong, I like quite a few gourmands. And I'm capable of enjoying something very sweet, occasionally - Angel Eau Sucrée is the sweetest of all in my collection, but I can't handle anything sweeter than this. And here is my honest point of view : LPRN is too sweet for me. Much too sweet. I like the way both spray methods smell. Maybe the difference is actually just my imagination because I didn't do any scientific experiment? Oh well it's what I'm getting. Lol. It then settles to an uber-glamourous scent. Rest assured, it *does* calm down. It's still cherry-heavy, but that almond is actually quite gentle, and I do honestly detect a small amount of rose and iris which I believe brings the glam factor (Not The X-Factor, geddit?).

Tony Shades: the powdery notes are actually listed. The most common notes that make a fragrance powdery are Iris (often listed as Orris root, as it is the root that is used for natural Iris), and violet. Perfumes with lots of purple flowers are almost always powdery. Another note that is often powdery is rose. There are two types of Roses in this fragrance, so it’s unsurprising that this fragrance is powdery especially in combination with the Iris. I know that a synthetic note sounds unappealing, but there is something about a synthectic cherry note that I love. It probably reminds me of something from my childhood so it hits the nostalgia factor for me. In LPRN, I found that the synthetic aspect tends to fade away and once it dries down, it smells like a spiced cherry almond dessert...at least on my skin. I find that clothing tends to retain some of the synthetic note a lot longer. I smell alot more of the rose in the opening and for the first couple hours. In the deeper drydown, it disappears completely and is replaced with the vanilla. I have trouble with La Petite Robe Noire. But first, the longevity of this on my skin is top-notch -- we're talking about twelve hours of perceptible, identifiable character. Projection is pretty close throughout, but this is a proper perfume in terms of staying power. Some reviewers say it's a sweet gourmand, but on my skin it's far from that. It's actually a tiny bit too sharp and sour on me, reminding me of a strong cherry brandy mixed with spices and powdery but dusty roses. That's all, I get no vanilla whatsoever from it. I am having the hardest time articulating my thoughts about Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire (EDP). I really like it, that I know for sure. Every time I take a big sniff of my wrists I have a split second where I think I can smell every single individual note, but then the second passes and I can't smell every note, just a wonderful blend of them: cherry, almond, licorice, tea, vanilla, rose, tonka bean, patchouli, iris, etc.Obviously there are other notes that can make a fragrance powdery, but these are the most common ones by my (limited knowledge). Hope this helps 😊

I refer to the EDP version. This is my favorite "afternoon" perfume - for a coffee with a friend, for a walk and shopping in the city, for a casual date with my husband. They are too strong to wear them in the office (unless really a few drops), but too weak for the evening. First of all I want to start off by saying I looooooooooove non-citrus fruity, scrumptious scents that aren't too heavy, mature and synthetic. This makes my heart beat for the Mediterranean... As for the comparison to Lolita, I don't see any resemblance to that one; at least on my skin, Lolita is a suffocatingly sweet mess.I suspect something though- I have found if I spray it after a shower I get that syrup cherry smell, almost a powdery scent I think that's the licorice and tonka bean. This doesn't go away until like 6 hours later to be able to smell the dry down. You are getting pummeled with sower cherries and drinking cough syrup as you put on that almond hand cream. The party doesn't let up- all the middle notes continue to dance as you decide if you like the syrup or not.
