Description

I love the fact that each chili recipe had it's own photo, and divided into several categories... it made it easy to choose which ones I wanted to try first! While there was a peppers/heat guide at that beginning of the book that rated the spiciness scale of each, it wasn't reflected in the actual recipe, so you'll have to look up the peppers if you're not familiar to determine what kind of heat factor you're looking at. Chili Society to be one of their World Championship Chili Cook-Off judges in 2021. Seriously Good Chili Who knew there were so many chili variations with regional and cultural differences?! This cookbook is perfect for anyone who loves chili and, especially, if you’re an Office fan (who doesn’t love Kevin and remember his famous trip with the chili pot episode?!) Introduction by Brian with a behind-the-scenes look at the infamous chili scene that made him a chili icon, plus his devoted passion for this classic comfort food and its rich history

And just when you're wondering where the other 176 recipes are, they appear. The variety is incredible. If you can't find a chili recipe in this collection to your liking, you probably don't like food at all. One grouping of the recipes are winners of ICS (International Chili Society) World Championships. The final recipe is 'the' recipe that was used in that incident in 'that' episode of "The Office". How fitting. All in all, this is more than just a cookbook. It's a celebration of the history, culture, and diversity of chili. About 15 years ago, I was working in a governmental office in DC. Every year there was a chili cookoff fundraiser. And people working there took it SERIOUSLY! They guarded their chili recipe secrets more closely than the most top secret documents we worked with. They worked for days preparing their chili. And it was cutthroat! More than one friendship was threatened by being beat out by a friend. I never wanted to participate. It just was not my cup of tea. However, I was approached by my boss, and told that, to be a good team player, I should enter the competition. So I submitted to the peer pressure and threw my hat into the competition. You'll also find tons of fun chili facts throughout! Including Brian's very own Savoury and Seriously Good chili recipe that he has perfected over years of trial and error, along with step-by-step video instruction with a QR code, and much more, the Seriously Good Chili Cookbook is the world's biggest and greatest collection of chili recipes.
