Description

We’ve expected no less from a headset at this price, but the GSP 670 is a device that you’ll forget you’re even wearing. Features Now, where the GSP 670 makes no compromises is the microphone. This swiveling microphone offers a broadcasting level of quality. It can’t compete with wired microphones in this price range, but then again, it’s not like we were ever expecting it to.

Now what’s most impressive about this dongle is that it genuinely offers that low-latency wireless experience. You shouldn’t settle for anything else at this price range, but considering that this was Sennheiser’s first foray into the realm of wireless gaming headsets, we had to see it first to believe it.

Closed mic night

And speaking of the core features, the most important one by far is the USB dongle. This is what you’ll be using to connect the headset to any device 99% of the time.

What you don’t get is professional styling. Wear these on your commute and you’ll get some odd looks. In return, though, you get an exceptionally comfortable pair of headphones thanks to two features: one, ear cushions that surround your pinnae rather than place any pressure on them; two, a sliding mechanism that adjusts the balance of the pressure of these 406g headphones on your head. I’m cynical about how much difference the balance mechanism makes in practice, but it does adjust the feel of the headset. More importantly, you can wear the GSP 670 for hours without suffering from hot, uncomfortable ears, and it makes no difference whether or not you wear glasses. All in all, it’s a very functional piece of software, but it doesn’t offer as many features as some of Sennheiser’s competitors that are more seasoned in the gaming scene.Once upon a time, Sennheiser made excellent headsets for gaming that looked more sophisticated than their RGB-daubed cousins and sounded like they’d been made by a long-established pro audio company - funny, that. Then EPOS took over those lines and refreshed them with an eye on repositioning them juuust slightly more towards the lifestyle market.

You might not be able to directly compare the results against other headsets unless there were a good way to calibrate them to a specific volume level though, which might require something like a binaural microphone that simulates human ears to more accurately account for different headset designs. We just can’t say enough good things about it. It’s everything you could hope from a Sennheiser device – an audio quality that makes everything sound at its best. ConclusionBattery life is the only minor weak point with Senheisser’s quoted 20 hours Bluetooth, and 16 hours low-latency estimates proving a wee bit optimistic during testing. I tended to get closer to 10-12 hours using the low latency connection. My only other minor quibble with the design is that it uses a micro-USB, not USB-C charge input, which is a bit of a faff considering most hardware has moved to the newer standard. Sennheiser GSP 670 audio quality – Amazing sound and clear mic In addition to the PC, you can use the dongle to connect this headset to your PS4. However, you won’t get access to any additional feature this way, including the 7.1 virtual surround sound.
