This is a delightful first volume that’s bound to please the fans of her main series but also makes a good starting point for new readers; it certainly pleased me! However, a much-needed breath of fresh air is the reappearance of Ao Ichinose, the student we met briefly in Volume 3, who’s afflicted with bad stomach pains when under stress (especially during exams). Keep reading yeah kagi you WISH hirano would suck out your life force through your mouth sources on the youkai are yokai. In the second chapter the main part is about how Hirano cheers Kagiura up after losing the match and also shows Hirano helping Kagiura with his dislike for green peppers. Because he know Kagiura, he understands that he should be honest and tackle any issues stem from them not feeling the same thing (from Hirano’s perspective at least) head on.

analyses, but it’s something that comes up in some form in every single chapter of the first volume (which is only four chapters, but the point still stands).

If Kagiura wants to carry on sharing a room with his senpai Hirano in the next academic year, he’s going to need to improve his test results and then some.

the ideas being developed (so far) isn't incredibly insightful like a masterpiece, but considering how they this story to be mainly about I don't think it could be any better! As he continues to rely on Hirano more and more each day, he develops strong feelings for his selfless friend. The way I see it, going the “big brother” route (instead of the romantic one) would be similar to their current relationship, only more so. We were shown an interesting encounter between Ichinose and the student dorm administrator (one of the staff) at the end of the last volume and here they meet again.Kagiura gets sick and Hirano tells him to stay and rest rather than go to practice, and Kagiura reluctantly agrees. The first change is when Hirano stops himself from wondering about how long Kagiura has been in love with him. Kagiura reveals his intent on pulling away from Hirano's touch, and after patching Hirano's injury up, he uses his 10 seconds to hug Hirano instead.

But Kagiura has fallen for his room-mate – even though Hirano insists – in a kindly way at first and then much more firmly – that he doesn’t feel the same way. Hirano later leaves on a field trip, and the two muse about being separated, Hirano in particular wondering what he should get Kagiura for his birthday. It all started when Kagiura moved into the schooldorms with whatseemed to be a bad-boy upperclassman. It all started when Kagiura moved into the school dorms with what seemed to be a bad-boy upperclassman. The real question is (I don't care if it's Spoiler, I just need to know because I don't want to break my heart if what they said is true XD) will Hirano and Kagiura end up together?Frustrating for me bc I keep doing a double take whenever he thinks something like that he ‘didn’t get a good evaluation in the club’ after the narration told us he was in fact considered one of the top two first years…but, relatable.

The mangaka is definitely enjoying herself, playfully toying with readers’ expectations that Something is Bound to Happen! It’s a similar case here, where Hirano stops wanting to help Kagiura by avoiding the issue to wanting to help him deal with the issue.

Hirano isn’t interested in getting closer to Kagiura in a romantic sense, but getting closer in a more platonic sense? A determined , respectful gentleman and a straightforward person *chef's kiss* nothing more to say here I just freaking love him. Shou Harusono’s skill lies in showing us how the everyday interactions between her characters might be the start of something far deeper than friendship… or might fizzle out because of the difference in ages and year groups. The novelization of Hirano and Kagiura covers their first semester as roommates together in the dorm. This shouldn’t be a problem for Hirano but Kagiura might be a gifted sports player (he’s on a scholarship) yet he’s far from strong on the academic side.
