Jeremy Vine offered up his take on the new look joking that it had left him questioning everything he’s ever known.

The gunmetal grey gradient bottle is perfect for this, looking at the bottle and then smelling the scent, they actually match. I can't imagine this one being the longest lasting fragrance ever but something cheap enough to put in your car or to wear when letting your more expensive blue fragrances take a break. I have the deospray here so right now the smell of it makes me calm and gives me a feeling of being welcomed. If you've never tried any of those fragrances it's like a really nice blue shower gel scent which is a lot better than most fragrance "experts" scoff at.You get a lime and lavender top with patchoulli drydown which sounds conventional, but the perfumer perfectly blends in a bit of vanilla to add sweetness and avoid this smelling like an 80's masculine cliche. The composition is bolder than the original, starting with fresh accords of pineapple, grapefruit and violet leaf.

Woody notes of cedar in the heart are spiced with tart geranium and black pepper, while warmth and depth originate from vanilla and patchouli. The longevity however is quite impressive, lasting a decent five to six hours on both mine and my partner's skin.

The note's look quite interesting, unfortunately it's like a cheap teenager's cologne that doesn't last very long . The projection isn’t very long, but the smell sticks to clothes for very long periods when applied to a shirt or so. Classic Blue is slightly sweet in the top and heart where the pineapple and apple feature most prominently. I have a few DB scents - Homme David Beckham (DBH), Beyond Forever (DBBF) and Pure Instinct - the latter is a sweeter take than the two beforementioned, but I like them all.

Of course, black pepper has its role, although patchouli in combination with the leather bring the lines of luxury. He tweeted: “For years I trusted that, although many things in the world were not as they seemed, David Beckham's hair was real. Unfortunately, all those appealing top notes soon disappate quickly into a standard celebrity mens' cologne that you've smelled about 1000 times before. It’s not going to turn heads or change lives or anything, but it’s a departure from the safety that Beckham is known for. It smells familiar, I guess I've smelled perfumes similar to this many times but yet I'm not tired of it.

This is for anyone 30 and under, something safe and easy to wear without any daring or different notes in it that some many not enjoy.

Also, I now get the comparison to Night Time (there's a kind of cool musk in both), but there is definitely no "clone" situation here (Beyond is milder and less interesting to me). Edit (2/4-17): I really enjoy the deospray but as I mentioned before I'd like it more with aquatic and/or bergamott notes. Anyone who says this smells like Salvatore Ferragamo F In Black you've REALLY got to use your imagination.

Top notes are Mojito, Cardamom and Grapefruit; middle notes are Black Pepper, Cedar and Geranium; base notes are Vanilla, Leather and Patchouli. I'm using that as bathroom spray currently if that means anything to anyone this is easier to wear and better in my opinion. If someone is new to fragrances and this is in a gift set for a younger family member I'm sure it'll impress them.
