Description

We take great care to provide accurate images and to colour-match between production batches, however, the dried aggregates we use are natural product and variations in shade can occur. Please ask for samples if colour is critical to your application. Building / Soft / sand is rarely bone dry so tends to clump together and not flow freely like kiln dried

That said, some people simply do not want to use a sealer but the good news is that there is an alternative. Sand stabilisers are a great way to set the sand in place without sealing the entire surface of the drive. Whether you are using a sealer or a stabiliser, both will need to be reapplied over the course of time. A stabiliser may last anywhere between 2 and 3 years whereas a sealer could last up to five years. Conclusion

Overview

Shade variations may occur between products with the same descriptive name but manufactured on differing aggregates. Coloured sand in a dark charcoal grey tone. Exclusively manufactured by Specialist Aggregates based on top quality natural sand to provide a uniform colour. It may be worth considering applying a sealer to set your paving joint sand hard. Alternatively you could apply a sand stabilizer if you don’t want a sealer applied. Joint stabilizers work by setting the sand hard but will not seal the surface of your paving. With all of that in mind, if you have a permeable driveway then paving sand would not be required as water won’t be an issue. Instead, you would use a fine gravel chipping with stones that are anywhere up to 6mm. How much sharp sand others required for their job could be different from how much you require because of things like the depth of sharp sand and how much you compact it. Some installers are fine with a 30mm compacted layer of sharp sand while some go way above 50mm. But 50mm is the common depth for the sand under the pavers.

I’ve just spend a week cleaning drive, removing few oil spots, scrapping out every trace of plant growth, sanding, then I’ve sealed with 70lt of Everbuild Patio Sealer This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen. Expect to pay more money for a bag of kiln dried sand than a conventional bag of building sand. This is because of the cost to dry the sand in a kiln before being bagged. The sand must also be kept indoors so it is kept dry before use. Find out how much kiln dry sand you need with our calculator.
