Shyish Reaper –Casting Value 7. A predatory spell that moves 8″ (12″ in Shyish), the controlling player can pivot it before moving it and for every model it passes over, roll a die, if the die rolls higher than their save characteristic, deal 1 mortal wound. Like Aethervoid pendulum but with more control, which kind of goes against why you’d take that spell (To keep an opponent from using it on you). Don’t bother. Also, if you don’t think Revenants are worth it at all since they’re not much better than Reapers and they don’t count as battleline, then let me know as well. The Nighthaunt are also getting a new support Hero in the form of the incredibly creepy Krulghast Cruciator. Take a look at them in the Lords of the Mortal Realms preview , if you missed it. Kharadron Overlords Many Character Options –This book has a lot of characters which can drastically influence your army composition. Much better choices than your weapons, 2 go-tos for most tournament lists are here the Pendant of the Fell Wind and Midnight Tome.

The Nighthaunt Vanguard set makes it easy to get into the army and gives you a reasonable starting position. Slightly changes the wording of Deathless Spirits to cover every model within 12″ of a Hero rather than units wholly within. Mostly useless in a practical sense, both in terms of the ability and actually fielding this in a game like most super battalions. Shroudguard Reikenor the Grimhailer is an impressively aggressive-looking and sinister Nighthaunt miniature. His ethereal form is clad in a tattered cloak, beneath which is visible a skeletal mask, and thin arms grasping his weapon – a great scythe known as Fellreaper, which features a grave-sand filled hourglass hanging from a chain – and the reins of his mount, a winged Nightmare named Kyallaron Prior to the Shyish necroquake, Reikenor often hunted the Mortal Realms on his own. Following the rise of Lady Olynder, the wraith-wizard has joined the Nighthaunts, leading processions on her behalf or following missions set by the Mortarch of Grief. So is his power greater than ever before. [1a] Wargear [ ]If you are settled on using Bladegheist Revenants, would you pay the extra 110 for a Warscroll Battalion (and an extra 40 for 20 Revenants since they have to be two separate units)? As a wizard he may cast one spell and deny one spell. I’ve given him Shademist which has a casting value (CV) of 6 and allows him to grant a friendly unit within 12” -1 to incoming wound rolls. He can place this on himself. He also brings special ability to improve his casting (Corpse Candle) and a warscroll spell (Wraithstorm). The first key unit though isn’t a unit, the Procession, Emerald Host, will get a lot of work done for us through the Emerald Curse

Anytime the Chainrasps are affected by Spectural Lure or Temporal Translocation, spells that let you return dead models you can return an additional D6 dead models. If you’re bringing 2 large squads of Chainrasps, which is certainly viable, this battalion makes them a huge pain in the ass. Execution Horde A niche utility unit that doesn’t see much play. They can attempt to unbind a spell as a wizard does, gaining +1 to the unbind roll for every 4 models. And that’s it. You likely won’t have enough models to get more than +1 to unbinding without paying more points than they’re really worth. While they can also eat an endless spell, it comes at the cost of the unit taking D3 mortal wounds, something you cannot afford on a unit of one wound models. You have plenty of casters, let them do the heavy lifting. Dreadscythe Harridans Hard to recommend as their role in your army isn’t terribly clear. They don’t get the size of Chainrasp Hordes, the rend of Grimghast Reapers or the speed of Hexwraiths. They get to reroll all hits if they charge or were charge but have a mediocre (For Nighthaunts) 6″ movement. You can likely substitute anything with a more specialized role and do better. Bladegheist Revenants Shadow’s Edge – Choose a melee weapon, on an unmodified 6 deal D3 Mortal wounds instead of a normal wound. Strap this to a D1 weapon otherwise you risk doing less damage. Otherwise its fine. B Much more diversity in artefacts here, 3 tables with 6 weapons, 6 relics and 3 lanterns which are exclusively used by Guardian of Souls. Weapons of the DamnedAs a powerful sorcerer-king he gathered many acolytes and followers to his cause, using his mastery of light magic to try and defeat mortality itself! Although Reikenor had vast knowledge and understanding of the energies of Shyish he merely attracted the malign attention of Nagash. [1] The easiest way to bring this list to 2000 points is to add Nagash, God of the Unquiet Dead. This takes the list to 1955 but you do lose the one drop Battle Regiment. Ideally you’d remove the Spirit Torment (it’s roll is replaced by Nagash) and either have 2 units of 20 Chaingasts and add some Craventhrone Guard or Hexwraiths. You could reinforce the Spirit Hosts into a unit of 6 then.
