The low-loading lip makes lifting luggage easy, and its 60/40 split folding seats mean longer items aren’t left behind, either. Vauxhall takes care of your most precious cargo with dual ISOFIX child seat anchors on the rear seats. This vehicle can tow around 870kg, enabling you to carry cycle carriers, small caravans and trailers.

If not for the cabin noise levels referred to earlier, the Crossland X would be a moderately talented long-distance cruiser. We’re now well used to PSA’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine in various Peugeots, Citroëns and DSs, where it commonly seems a slightly uncouth but likeably strong and characterful motor. The Crossland loses more of its value over three years through depreciation than those rivals, so long term it's not going to be cheap to own if you're a cash buyer.Casting an eye around the cabin’s fixtures and fittings reveals switchgear you’ll recognise from both PSA’s parts shelves (window switches, pedals, interior door handles) and Opel-Vauxhall’s (headlight controls, column stalks, heater controls). Vauxhall initially offered the Crossland with a variety of trims as well as personalisation options to tune the car to your tastes: SE was followed by SE Nav Premium, SRi Nav, Elite, Elite Nav and the top-of-the-range Ultimate Nav. It was a little confusing though, and thankfully the British brand has since neatened up the range so it now includes just Design, GS and Ultimate specifications on the price list. After refinement, drivability and economy will likely matter most to those in the market for this sort of car – and both of those are good, although neither is outstanding. You've probably forgotten the Vauxhall Meriva. Most have. Small MPVs used to be a thing, but buyers deserted them a few years ago for small SUV-crossovers. Even if those people want a crossover, an MPV might still actually be a whole lot more use to them. They want rugged looks, but they need space and versatility and fuel economy. So the Crossland is, in short, a mini MPV disguised as a crossover.

The engineering is as straight as you’d expect at this size and class. The Crossland X is only 4.2m long, barely longer than some superminis, and it gets a steel monocoque basis. It tipped our scales at 1287kg. Access through the Vauxhall Crossland's big front doors is good, andonce you're inside, there's plenty of head and leg room, even if you're tall. The VW T-Roc is wider, so if you prefer to have more distance between you and your passenger, that’s worth considering instead. The Crossland X is about level with the Yeti on practicality and marginally beats it on interior flexibility and value, but it’s an undistinguished addition to the class in other ways. The car rolls fairly hard through a tight corner, although its rate of roll is controlled and its lean angle isn’t allowed to undermine its balance of grip or its handling stability too much. Vauxhall’s electronic traction and stability controls can be switched out at low speeds but automatically reactivate above about 20mph. That’s to be approved of because they’re broadly effective yet unobtrusive. A Nissan Juke has a much more pleasantambience, as does the Skoda Kamiq and VW T-Roc. Interior overview

The rear pillars are quite wide compared with those on the Skoda Kamiq, which is one of the easiest small SUVs to see out of in any direction. You can improve matters in the Crossland if you go for mid-level GS trim, which gets front and rear sensors, and a 360-degree parking camera. was when the Crossland X—Vauxhall's newest family SUV— hit the road. The Crossland X is an impressive model, even in the lowest trims. With reasonable starting prices, a used Vauxhall Crossland X is an attractive choice if you're looking for lots of technical features, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard across all trims. SRI Nav adds ambient interior lighting, driver’s centre armrest, Flex Floor adjustable-height boot floor, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, an alarm and tinted rear windows. Elite Nav supplements this with an eight-inch sat-nav enabled colour touchscreen, voice control and a second USB charging connection. Vauxhall's performance in our 2023 What Car? Reliability Survey wasn't great: it finished in 30th place (out of 32 manufacturers), beating only Alfa Romeo and Cupra. There are six trims available with the Crossland X: the SE, SE Nav, Trim Line Nav, Elite, Elite Nav and Ultimate. The Crossland X comes with various naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol and diesel options. The Opel Crossland is a subcompact crossover SUV ( B-segment) marketed by Opel since 2017. It is also marketed as the Vauxhall Crossland in the United Kingdom, officially unveiled to the media in January 2017. [3] The car was officially shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, and was originally known as the Opel and Vauxhall Crossland X. It went on sale in the summer of 2017. At the same time, the Opel Meriva was discontinued, as demand for crossovers and SUVs in the B-segment is continually growing at the expense of compact MPVs. [4] Overview [ edit ] The Vauxhall Crossland X is a convenient choice for families and individuals looking for additional capacity at an affordable price.
