Both sides get some unique battle traits that can be selected instead of ones in the core rule book – For example Eldar Rangers can earn an upgrade to have the range of their weapons increased by 18″ making them able to shott from pretty much anywhere they like! A total of 3 Ranger upgrades and 3 Shroud Runner upgrades are listed giving you a nice selection of things to do. For the Chaos Space Marines they get 3 Forgefiend traits and 3 Warpsmith ones – including the ability for a Warpsmith to make any Chaos Vehicle pass any Out of Action tests after a battle! Disrupt (Action): One or more ASURYANI units from your army can start to perform this action at the start of your Charge phase if it is within range of an objective marker. Each unit from your army that starts to perform this action must be in range of a different objective marker. A unit cannot start this action while there are enemy units in range of the same objective marker. The action is completed at the start of your next Command phase providing you control that objective marker. If this Action is successfully completed, remove that objective marker.

This is a box for the modelers and the painters, there are no two ways about it. Every figure in this box – and I mean every figure – goes to evidence the argument that Games Workshop make the best models in the world. It’s an easy model to build – although perhaps not the most exciting thing to assemble. All the parts are chunky and, in spite of its size, there are relatively few of them. However, once it’s together, it’s another spectacular thing, a looming behemoth towering over the rest of the Chaos figures in the box.Plus, make sure you’re building valid army lists with the up-to-date points found in the Munitorum Field Manual 2022. Rangers retain their role as a sneaky Troop option for the Craftworlds, but upgraded to bring them in line with other snipers and scouts. They’re now popping off shots at a base BS2+, meaning that they can still hit on 3s if you’ve got them on the move for Battle Focus shenanigans, and their rifles get AP-1 now (while still being able to snipe and deal mortals on 6s to wound), meaning they’re a little more threatening to targets than they were. The miniatures that come in the Eldritch Omens battlebox are really matters with this release – far more so than in any previous battlebox. For a long time, the formula for the miniatures in the battlebox has been to include two units of existing figures for each warring faction, and a new hero model for each side. I appreciate that you may feel I should act differently. But with all due respect, It’s really about how “I feel I want to move forward with this community that will decide where it goes… It’s served me well for the last few years and I’ll just trust that it will continue to do so.
