White chocolate flavors have their fanbase. Indeed, a lot of people don’t like regular chocolate flavor. The white chocolate barrels protein bar is a fantastic option for those people. Barebells made some rather large claims when this flavour was released, and similarities with a certain range of luxury Italian chocolates were more than implied (‘little crunchy Rocher-style Hazelnut pieces’). Does it live up to their hype? Hazelnut protein bars have soy protein isolate and pea protein as the primary protein source. In my previous article, I have clearly explained that soy protein isolate is harmful to men, and men should not use it. Flavour-wise, this is more a chocolate cashew bar than caramel cashew, and I can’t help but feel slightly misled. The caramel layer is scarcely there and it didn’t deliver the hint of salt I was hoping for – and which would have really elevated the flavour. So when I say I’m incredibly happy to have found these, that’s really saying something. There are hundreds of protein bar brands available in the market, and every year or two, more and more businesses are hopping into the company with their products. Barebells is one such product that has been making a lot of buzz since the last year.
