Description

While the picture quality is pretty adequate for the price and form factor, during our testing, we were disappointed to find the projector was a letdown on the brightness front. The listed 400 lumens brightness means the Nebula Solar Portable will struggle to remain visible in bright environments, while dark scenes are difficult even in ideal viewing conditions. OSD Language: English, French, Spanish, Thai, Korean, German, Italian, Russian, Swedish, Dutch, Polish, Czech, T-Chinese, S-Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Portuguese, Finnish, Indonesian, India, Arabic, Vietnamese, Greek, Hungary Total 24 languages Video Performance. The M1's video performance is limited by its resolution. If you've gotten used to a 4K projector for home theater, the M1's image will look soft in comparison. If you're still used to 1080p, the difference won't seem as extreme. Either way, whether you'll be comfortable with the resolution is a matter of personal taste. The Anker Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K has plenty of competition, but if you want a projector that will regularly work in a lot of different places around your home rather than outside it, there are few options that will do it as well and as easily as this one. The LED light source delivers consistent brightness without lamp replacement for 30,000 hours. Enjoy uninterrupted big fun for over 20 years with 4 hours of projection per day.

Based in Southern California and Taipei, Taiwan, Viewsonic is a leading display hardware and technology company specializing in business, education, and home entertainment markets. The company started in 1987 as Keypoint Technology Corporation, producing the “ViewSonic” line of color CRT monitors. In the 1990s, the company renamed itself after the successful ViewSonic line and went on to become one of the leading innovators in LCD monitors and interactive displays. Wireless Presentation System– For business or education use, a wireless presentation system is faster and more secure than the other two options. The best models enable you to plug in a button to your phone or tablet and start sharing instantly.Others use either a dedicated app installed on your phone or Airplay to share the screen. While they are more expensive, the best models encrypt the transmission, so sensitive information can’t be wirelessly captured and seen from curious people in the area. Are portable projectors any good? It isn't the cheapest option on this list — look at the Anker Nebula Solar Portable below for a budget alternative — but it's the most polished and covers all of the bases. In our review of the Samsung The Freestyle projector, we wrote: "Compact, portable and with a built-in suite of apps, The Freestyle is a projector that offers everything you need in one place." All you need to do is provide a blank surface to project onto. Pro 3) Excellent Lamp Life in Laser Models: Viewsonic’s impressive range of laser projectors includes models with up to 30,000 hours of lamp life. Combined with acceptable lumen output for relatively bright environments like classrooms or a living room, these laser projectors are a lower-maintenance alternative to bright, lamp-based projector units. Laser diodes on ViewSonic’s laser DLP projectors last much longer than bulbs with equivalent light output. The brand’s 3,000-lumen laser classroom projectors are rated for 30,000 hours of illumination.Brightness-wise, the ML750e boasts a 700 Lumens lamp that lets you present in rooms that aren't completely darkened. This is good news if you want to use it outside in the evening, too.

Con 1) Lower Light Output: Compared to some other projector lines, the Viewsonic home theater range tends to offer a little less light output. This means that many of their smaller Bluetooth projector and smart projector options work better in dark environments. This also means they won’t well as a 3D projector or even a projector for a golfing simulator.

Green Design

First off, you need to think about the situations you’re going to be using your projector in and find one that fits your requirements. Taking your smart projector on-the-go? Consider how well the projector achieves a portable design. Does it come with a carry handle? Or can it fold into a travel-ready container? If your projector is going to sit on your coffee table, make sure it says it’s a “short throw.” No need for central positioning - now you have comprehensive H/V keystone and 4 corner adjustment capabilities that deliver perfectly shaped images from above, below, front, or side.

The ViewSonic PJD5155 3300-lumen projector is the device of choice for large conference rooms and home theaters. This projector has a variable screen size, ranging from just 30 inches to an outstanding 300 inches. The projector has a plug-and-play design that simplifies installation on the computer. With a reliable lamp, this device provides up to 10,000 hours of lamp life. However, this is a long-throw projector, so it needs to be placed far from the screen or wall. The ViewSonic M1 has a native resolution is 854x480, whereas many competing models are 1280x720. However, the 720p models come with their own array of limitations -- they can cost more, or they are not nearly as bright, or they don't offer Full HD 3D or good quality on-board sound, or they don't have 6 hour batteries or internal memories. And none of them (at this writing) come with a 3-year warranty. In this class of very inexpensive portable projectors, it is a matter of choosing which set of features and limitations are most important to you. Pro 1) Many LED-driven Budget Models: Viewsonic has a more diverse and flexible budget projector range than projector manufacturers like Acer. These include award-winning, ultra-portable units with internal speakers, a built-in battery, and integrated 360-degree smart stands. Casting– If you have a Chromecast or an Apple TV, you can wirelessly connect to your projector and mirror your screen. You will need to be on the same network as the receiver, then use your built-in screen mirroring to send it to your projector. This is a nice option when you want to show photos or videos on your device, or for occasional use.Standard projectors are mainly powered, but many mini projectors are also designed to run on battery power. Like any battery-powered device, they have limited running times compared to when they're plugged in, but most models have more than enough power to show multiple movies without requiring a recharge halfway through. It can also mean that the projector is dimmer than a wired one to get more life out of the battery. On the device's left side are a USB Type-A port and a micro USB port, plus a micro-USB-to-USB-A cord for powering or recharging. The projector has a built-in battery with an estimated 2.1-hour runtime between charges in standard mode and 2.4 hours in eco mode, according to ViewSonic. Those numbers seemed to pretty much match my experience. Next, up, apps. Your projector is only as smart as the apps running on it. So, it makes sense to have an app store enabled on your projector. Does the projector you’re looking at come with app store integration? To work with apps, enable voice commands, and stream movies (all at the same time) look for a smart projector with ample processors, memory, and storage. Something else to consider is resolution. Smart projectors are much smaller than standard projectors, this makes resolution the first thing to go. For those who enjoy camping, and just want some form of entertainment next to the campfire, a lower resolution works. Mini projectors have the hardest time with resolution. But, not all smart projectors suffer from poor resolution. 4K Smart LED projectors are now on the market. If home entertainment is your preferred use, opt for 4K resolution. The highest-end smart projectors will call themselves “True 4K” projectors.

The Optoma ML750e is a versatile and powerful projector but weighing in at just 0.4kg and measuring only 10.4 x 10.5 x 3.9 it it has a n incredibly small footprint that literally fit in the palm of our hand during testing. This makes it easy to carry around and more than worthy of our best portable projectors guide. Video Optimized Lumens. With all three color modes delivering essentially the same brightness and picture quality, and no color adjustments available, all three have equal claim on being the optimized video setting at roughly 140 lumens. The touch buttons on the mesh surface provide intuitive use and a tactile texture at the same time. Harman Kardon stereo speakers create room-filling sound for an amplified experience, while more flexible audio needs can be achieved via Bluetooth connectivity. The M1 Pro adopts mesh texture, providing a sense of warmth that fuses with the sleek silver metal for a harmonious blend. The surface is embedded with a touch keypad for intuitive operation, achieving both great function and style at once. One other huge leg up this projector has over its competitors is its audio quality. The built-in Harmon Kardon speaker sounds akin to a top-rated Bluetooth speaker and is more than up to the task of providing audio worthy of the accompanying picture. Brightness We've tested many different types of projectors over the years, but when we were looking for the best portable projector, we needed to see a few key considerations.
