I tried to tare my graduated cylinder. When I started adding drops of oil, the scale didn't register anything until drop #14, and even then, it showed those drops as weighing only 0.03g in total. This is incorrect, since two previous tests showed that each drop should weigh approx. 0.03g. year. This covers manufacturing faults only, it excludes normal wear and tear, bowls, trays, finishes, clasps, hinges, feet, AC adaptors and batteries; it also excludes being overloaded / dropped (e.g. error messages EEE, 0-Ld, or OUEr). The guarantee is invalid if the scale shows signs of foreign material (e.g. residues of herbs, chemicals, corrosion, spilt tea). Place the scales on a stable platform like a stout table, away from other electrical equipment and draughts. Use plastic tweezers to place the pellet on the scales and be careful not to breathe over them while the pellet is being weighed: this could cause a false reading. Periodically clean the scales of any pellet lube or other detritus using lens cleaning fluid or lighter fluid.
