The ending of this volume is very strong, but honestly, I am not entirely certain I like the artwork that much. After what seems a slow start but still an interesting world-build, the emotional impact is still severe and bone-crunchingly immediate. There's usually never a warning before someone you love dies, but it's doubly so here. A good person? Well… I don’t really like that term. Because to me, it just seems to mean someone who’s good for you. And I don’t think there’s any one person who’s good for everyone." --Armin Arlert” And I hate the art. It looks amateurish to me. There are a few panels that are effective, and the titans' designs are chilling, but in general it just looks clumsy. It seems like the anime has a different, and much better, art style. I had heard a lot of good things about this series, I also agree that the concepts are refreshing and exciting. I even read *part* of the first few volumes.

People have known for more than a hundred years that the titans are out there, but they have buried their own heads in the sand, barricaded themselves behind high walls. Out of sight, out of mind. Now those walls are crumbling, and the threat can no longer be ignored! Thankfully, our young heroes finally take action - and as it turns out, countless young readers around the world can relate to the desire to restore human dignity and, yes, save the world: "Finally we can be useful," as Krista puts it just before the battle starts. The Survey Corps take Eren and Krista, who now assumes her birth name, Historia Reiss, to a secluded place and make preparations for an eventual operation to reclaim Wall Maria. Hange proposes the theory that all regular Titans were humans once, but after the transformation they became feral and unable to return to their original form, unlike Eren and the other intelligent Titans. When Levi and his subordinates uncover a conspiracy to hinder their efforts led by none other than the royalty itself, Erwin and his supporters decide to stage a revolution to ensure that their plans to drive away the Titans from the walls can be executed without further interference. After Eren wakes up from his nightmare, we are introduced to Armin and Mikasa. Armin is Eren’s best friend and he fills Eren’s head with dreams of seeing the outside world beyond the walls, telling him stories of oceans, deserts, mountains, volcanoes and all sorts of things they could never imagine witnessing with their own eyes if they continue to spend the rest of their lives hiding in mundane safety behind the walls. Armin is frail and timid, but he’s incredibly smart and proves his worth as a brilliant tactician. He’s also very loyal and protects his friends when the going gets tough. During the time of occupation by the United States after World War II, it began to take on a Westernized style that continues today. Manga for boys is called shōnen manga, while manga for girls is called shōjo manga. However, it wasn't quite as captivating as other manga I've read and I'm not sure if I'm going to continue the series. It just didn't wow me 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ One of the things I never thought I would do was read manga and yet here I am entering my second one and thoroughly enjoying it.

At that time, the parent company of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine, Kodansha, was simultaneously beginning to release volumes in Japan. We don't have to go out-side the walls for our whole life. We can eat, sleep and survive just fine here... but isn't that like being a caged animal?"

Kodansha released the Spoof on Titans series on their mobile app, MangaBox. Written by Hounori in a comic-book style format called yonkoma, the series ran from December 2013-December 2014. In 2016, the chapters were released in a two-volume collection. This series is not considered canon, and each episode stands independently. Novels I get the end of the Dark Tower vibes with this opening of Eren waking up crying from a dream at the start of the series, hoping very much I am a bit paranoid with 33 parts still to go. The first novel came out in December 2011 and follows a weaponsmith who creates weapons to fight against the Titans. The bonus volume will be titled ‘Bad Boy’ and according to the official preview, will include a “top-secret final draft”, although details on the contents remain suspiciously sparse at the time of writing.

After being put through years of brutal military training, Eren and his friends are prepared to lay their lives on the line to exterminate every last titan in the world and bring freedom to humanity once more. But Eren doesn’t yet realize that he isn’t prepared for the many horrors that lie beyond the walls he grew up in. There’s more than just titans out there that want him and his friends dead.

reading: You know what, I liked this a little bit more after reading it again. It's possible that the crap I read before this made this seem better overall ... but, meh. Not bad. I didn't think that this would be as good as anime (because anime is bloody fantastic), but it was. I loved the art style, characters and above all amazing and brutal story. The United States branch of Kodansha, Kodansha USA, began releasing English volumes of the series just a few months after the Japanese volumes were released.
