They are also excellent on drywall and suitable for use on walls and other architectural applications. Contains no methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or other strong solvents, which can attack solvent sensitive substrates, such as polycarbonate and polycarbonate bl ends. It’s non-toxic, dries at room temperature, and can be applied to any non-conductive, non-hydrophobic surfaces, like paper, plastic, textiles, or wood. It can be used to create circuits or as a conductive coating for shielding, such as EMI shielding in electric guitars.

This resin has a resistance that is greater when the surface is longer and there is less material on the surface.Because Electric Paint is water-based it acts like poster paint and can be applied to all sorts of materials, including (but not limited to) paper, cardboard, vellum, wood, metal, plaster, some rubbers, plastics, and many textiles. From wallpaper that plays a sound when the printed pattern is touched to large interactive surfaces where sensors are integrated within walls to trigger projections onto the surface. Please complete the purchase (or remove the quote – don't worry it's still available in My Account) before adding these additional items. The polymer matrix and the additives in the formula must create as little electrical interference as possible. Others say that it did not perform as expected, is unsuitable for some applications, and was awful to use.

From our testing, the dried surface can not be soldered with SnPb 60/40 alloy that was widely used before RoHS regulations or with its Pb-free substitute. It works well on paper and some other surfaces for using as a temp conductor but only as a toy really. Pressure in the system should be adjusted to produce sufficient flow rates to ensure suspension of the metal. The binder holds the paint together and provides adhesion, while the conductive filler provides the electrical pathway. The electroconductive paint is a surface treatment that allows different surfaces and materials that are non-conductive to become conductive. The paint is expensive because of the high silver content but because it is so conductive, a small amount goes a long way. Great for use with Bare Conductive's Touch Board, Arduino, Raspberry Pi and other PCBs and prototyping materials. As a general rule, carbon-based inks like Electric Paint have a higher resistance compared to silver paint or copper based inks.

Electric Paint is a conductive ink that can be used to repair breaks, cold solder, or to draw small-scale circuits. Bare Conductive spun-out of Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art with the development of Electric Paint in 2009. The Electric Paint Lamp Kit is the perfect gift to bring a little more light to your life, or someone else’s. Almost any paint can be made into a weak conductive paint (in the range of MΩ – GΩ), but electroconductive paints are developed with special technical characteristics to make it high or low conductive. When they graduated and presented their work, they were inundated with requests from people wanting to purchase the material. Combine Electric Paint and the capacitive sensing of the Light Up Board, to create a beautiful paper lamp in three easy steps: paint, fold, and power on! While most companies producing conductive materials classify themselves as belonging to the coatings industry, Bare Conductive is very much an electronics company focused on a technology stack that transforms printed electronics from passive components, to a platform for making the surfaces and spaces where we live, work, and travel, safer, healthier and more extraordinary. Conductive inks and paints will find their next set of successful applications within smart buildings and automotive. MG Chemicals offers conductive paints pigmented with branched carbon powder, nickel flake, silver-coated-copper flake, and silver flake.
