Description

The panel where Spider-Man saves Arnulfa during "In the Flesh" is an homage from the Amazing Spider-Man #90, the death of George Stacy, which was cited as being one year prior to this story. The first story is co-written by Anthony Falcone and Michael Cho (the latter of which did the art), as it centres on a petty criminal who keeps getting apprehended by Spider-Man. Complaining why Spidey keeps stopping small fry and not focus on the cosmic disasters that have plagued the Marvel Universe, the superhero gives the criminal a taste of reality in how breaking the law can hurt somebody, something Peter knows all too well. Cho’s art evokes the aesthetics of Silver and Bronze age superhero comics, which applies well with this tale’s classical look.

story - Lannucci/Stegman - 6. That was a rather boring story especially after the tone was set by the previous two... The art isn't th at good as well. Not bad, of course, but still... Plus this new villain is mediocre. The Daily Bugle begins showing people what they secretly want to believe one morning, and all hell breaks loose in NYC. While the story is an okay enough take on the whole "Fake News" shit, the highlight of this is Stegman’s pencils. His Superior Spider-Man art is still some of my favorite Spider-Man art to this day, so it's just nice seeing him draw the character again. His action scenes just always have so much energy to them. Rainbow Rowell and Olivier Coipel spotlight the average day of Peter Parker’s hectic job as a Daily Buglephotographer Join the industry’s top talent in celebrating Spider-Man’s birthday when AMAZING FANTASY #1000 arrives on August 31! These celebratory event covers for D23 are the only time that Disney allows this kind of crossover between Disney and Marvel IP.

Let's celebrate Spidey's 60th birthday and read this sudden AF #1000... Why is it 1000 in the first place? I honestly don't understand the logic. But who cares... So, about stories: Ho Che Anderson and Giuseppe Camuncoli are up next with a wild sci-fi tale focused on a woman who is hospitalized for thinking there are spiders inside her. The tale is one of the more obtuse looks at Spider-Man in this collection, eventually finding the main character running into Spider-Man. It ends well, though, showing Spidey cares for everyone. Art by STEVE MCNIVEN, RYAN STEGMAN, JIM CHEUNG, MICHAEL CHO, GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI, TERRY DODSON, RACHEL DODSON, OLIVIER COIPEL, & MARCO CHECCHETTO

Spider-Man Vs. Conspirition" is probably my least favorite story here. It just doesn't really feel like it matters or says anything about Spider-Man as a character. We're going big to celebrate in this, our thousandth issue of AMAZING FANTASY! An ALL-STAR roster of creators are coming together to celebrate Peter Parker and Spider-Man's birthdays!

BOOM! signals the end with ‘Once & Future’ #30

Lowe also broke down each of the eight stories featured in the one-shot, including behind-the-scenes tidbits on the issue’s extraordinary talent.
