The chance to return to that world, with two creative partners who were also involved in shaping it, has been a real thrill for Dini. “Ty Templeton was able to capture all the depth we were trying to go for with the characters and even then some,” Dini shares. “He brought such incredible emotion to the characters and complexity with the stories. To work with him again is a dream come true.” Ultimate Batman: Even when the batteries die and the eyes and Batsymbol no longer light up, this will still be a stunning, no-frills Batman figure. Can’t beat that, can you? Action Figures 10-1

Adam Luchies is a Movies and TV News Writer for Collider. He began writing for Collider in November 2021. Adam graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in Multimedia Journalism in 2020. Battle Helmet Batman: Even though the blueish hue of the suit isn’t quite a match with the show, I think it looks stellar. Give him a better accessory and this might be the best Batman in the line, even if he’s a mailaway toy. Hoverbat: A little over-designed for a vehicle that should be relatively simple, I like this more because of the art on the box. Two-Face looks so mad to have been captured, while Batman has an expression of annoyance as if he missed his exit on the freeway. Amazing.Along with offering characters that were new to the Batman: The Animated Series world, DC Direct wanted to give fans of the series who had missed out on some of the earlier figures a new chance to add them to their collection. Along with the new characters, the Batman: The Adventures Continue line will also include some older and harder-to-find figures, like the Joker, Robin and Catwoman, with all new cel-shaded paint decos. The Catwoman figure will also come with a brand-new head sculpt of her without her cowl. Batcycle: Usually I think miniature motorcycle figures are weird, because they look strange without a rider. The Batcycle design is so sleek that it doesn’t really matter, though, so this looks cool. When two shots rang out, Bruce Wayne’s life changed forever. He pledged himself to justice and he has upheld that oath for years. Wearing many names—the Dark Knight, the World’s Greatest Detective, the Caped Crusader—he has battled tragic foes like The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, and so many more. But deep inside, he knows that he shares something with them that most of humanity wouldn’t understand—a commitment to the fight. DC Comics digital-first series available in both digital and print editions; Season One, Two and Three complete and on sale However, Shane isn't just a movie guy. He also loves video games. Super Mario Sunshine, The Last of Us Part 1 and 2, and Batman: Arkham City are some of his favorites. Music plays a big part in his life as well. Given that Shane's a big horror fan, you might be surprised to learn that he's a pop guy. Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, The Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato play on repeat while he's writing.

We are following up on the original toy line that we launched,” explains DC Direct Creative Director, Jim Fletcher. “We went through almost fifty characters. We were looking for a way to get this line continued and we were trying to think of a way to do it by making enough figures of characters that people would actually want.” Bruce Wayne’s Car: If this were a Hot Wheel or something, I might like it more. As part of a line with much more interesting vehicles and characters, it’s just kind of bland. As for Templeton, he just feels “elated…honored…thrilled. All of the good words.” As he explains, “I’m so happy to be any part of this wonderful franchise and all the great moments it’s brought fans.” Batcave Command Central: While playsets can be relatively hit or miss, this one definitely hits. Multiple levels of play, including facades for Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and the exit for the Batmobile, and it even looks like it can fold up for ease of storage and transportation. Can’t go wrong with any of that. What happened after the show ended…?” wonders Fletcher. “All of these characters had been created, like Deathstroke, Red Hood and, most recently, the Batman Who Laughs. So we said, ‘This could be a cool way to continue the line and really create something fans would want to own.’” After the Mission Masters set Hasbro started making figures for the Batman: The Animated Series spin-off TV show, Batman Beyond. A Batman related show set in the future with even darker themes than it’s parent show. Batman Beyond starred a new Batman, Terry McGinnis, who was mentored by an aging Bruce Wayne. The Batman: The Animated Series action figures did so well for DC Collectibles that they released more figures in 2016. In January they unveiled a small grouping of figures, which included Robin and the Joker. These two would mark the last of the figures that have been currently released through DC Collectibles, but there are still many more figures to come. DC Direct fans rejoice, Batman: The Adventures Continue has arrived! At last, fans are finally able to re-immerse themselves in the iconic Batman animated world with all new action figures, carrying on a much beloved part of DC’s rich history. High Wire Batman: Might have made more sense as a Robin figure, because circus and what not. Cool accessory and play action, and I kind of dig those yellow highlights on the suit.

Ground Assault Batman: Kind of digging those colors, and the large bat-shaped plate on his chest. Random glider/board accessory could be for anything, so otherwise it’s relatively nondescript. Of course, the action figures are only one part of this. For the past few months, fans have been getting all-new adventures set within the world of Batman: The Animated Series in the Batman: The Adventures Continue digital first series, written by Dini and Alan Burnett and drawn by none other than Templeton. This bi-weekly comic, set after the final season of Batman: The Animated Series, has been telling the stories Dini and Burnett might have written for characters like Red Hood, Deathstroke and Azrael had the animated series continued. Collect all additional DC Animated Figures; Superman and Green Lantern as well as other McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse figures . Figures sold separately. Adam also loves DC and Marvel superheroes, thanks to TV shows like Batman: The Animated Seriesand Spider-Man: The Animated Series in the 1990s. In addition to animated superheroes, he is a big fan of Tim Burton’s Batman, Smallville, the Arrowverse, and the Marvel movies. Adam is also a huge comic book fan of all eras, from the golden and silver ages, to DC's New 52 and Marvel's Ultimate Universe. The Joker: Genuinely love the gas mask, and the gun that squirts water is a nice touch. Something about this just seems a bit plain and uninspired, though, even if I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Combat Belt Batman: The top three are going to be practically interchangeable. This Batman has a perfect suit, tons of cool accessories, and a clean, classic paint job. I honestly can’t think of a single thing I’d change. The Batman: The Animated Series action figure line had a bit of a confusing history with the move to Hasbro, the multiple spin-off television series, and the many repainted figures. I’ve done my best to untangle it here but I also wanted to use this article to discuss the new figures coming out currently. These new figures are turning heads and generating toy headlines. Seven chapters of the Batman: The Adventures Continue miniseries have already been released digitally and a print edition will soon follow. With the first wave of action figures now in stores as well, there has never been a more rich and exciting time to be a Batman: The Animated Series fan. At least, not since the series left the airwaves.

Batmobile: Sleek and classic, this is about as perfect an Animated Batmobile as you could hope for. I only like this design, without full on loving it, as there are other Batmobiles I prefer over this one. Still, it’s awesome and perfectly fits the aesthetic of the show. Ice Hammer: None of these vehicles are awful, so this particular list goes from “good” to “great.” I’d gladly take an Ice Hammer vehicle any day without hesitation, but would prefer the other 13 just a bit more. The Jokermobile: The only thing I dislike about this is that it never appeared in the series, because this is 100% something Joker would have driven around in. And the launching smile missile is simply perfect.
