Both characters had pasts that should have been grappled with, but it was good to see that Holden had a strong support system to love and care for. And that’s it for julep. I appreciated that they were both damaged characters, but when the heroine needs the hero, it added a nice layer to her story. I love the man that Holden was and the fact that he never gave up, even when told to. The way he cared and the way he spoke up? Perfection! When Kandi is not writing her novels, she can be found devouring all manner of books though romance is her favorite genre. She also loves to spend time with family and friends, her very vocal cat, and also enjoys sweet wine, craft beer, live music, movie marathons, traveling, beach days and anything heavy in carbs.

He is rude, sweaty and dirty but she cannot escape the man, given that she lives in a small town. Every time she runs into the man, she only gets more infuriated as he sees her like no one else does – the real person she is. I can’t help but touch him. I can’t help but pray for 𝘩𝘪𝘮 to touch 𝘮𝘦. And I can’t resist the temptation to test him at every turn.
