Yeah, pretty much all you need for the covering is something that is firm enough to trigger the switches and lasts long - the foam works, but I'm afraid it will dent after a while and not depress the switch completely.

Heavier discs might launch more reliably (accurately), but would likely not go as far without also improving the spring in the launcher. You also don't have to work the mechanism or cock the gun before each shot, which might make this gun ideal for smaller children, except for the size and weight issues. As far as homemade clips are concerned, I'm interested but can't help much due to lacking a Praxis/Nitron. A few notes: the green discs these guns shoot aren't hard exactly, but the guns do spit them out at a good clip.

It's probably custom, and so we might not be able to fully replicate it, but I think there must be some bulk-available plastic thing that would substitute. The glue used to hold the entire mess together gums up the teeth, forcing you to peel it off every once in a while. Also a long range it seems to shoot to the the right a bit, but overall its still really really good fun. You have to hold down the bottom button to spin up the firing mechanism, and if you hold down the traditional trigger with that bottom button held down, you fire the discs. The bumper heads were a hemispherical mold, and the washer had exposed edges and was not consistently centered. But presumably there’s a sector gear somewhere, lifting the disc up to make contact with the flywheel, and once that happens, a spring resets the pusher.

They mention that its a very satisfying toy, the discs are not dangerous and that its excellent value for money.
