I came here looking for information on that very attachment on the Cucinapro and if it would fit on the Marcato.

Both the Marcato Atlas 150 and the Imperia 150 are from an original and high quality pasta roller brand. This attachment is excellent for making authentic Italian pasta at home or at a gourmet restaurant that prides itself on making authentic Italian dishes. I’d be interested in Imperia if their motor is more silent; on th eother hand, the Imperia motor requires a plastic piece to be attached. It's also more fun with two - and kids love this stage as they see the dough becoming longer and longer.

You really cannot go wrong with this baby - just open the box, get the clamp set up, whack in the pasta and you're good to go with the Imperia pasta machine. It wasn't quite as stable and smooth-turning as the more expensive models in testing, and it costs a few dollars more than the similar-scoring OxGord. A lot of dough bits built up inside the cutters in testing; they can't get wet, so we had to carefully scrape all the pasta remnants away using a toothpick and soft brush.

In Italy, these techniques are passed down from generation to generation - but we were lucky enough for our Italian friend Graziella to pass it onto us. This width is perfect for when you are making homemade pasta, as it will provide enough pasta for you and your family (and friends of course). Expertly made by Italian masters from stainless steel, this cutter fits perfectly into the Imperial model 150.The clamp held it securely to the table, and the crank turned smoothly and easily on every one of the 10 settings. It makes sure it's steady which is important as you turn the handle so that you have a free hand to deal with the pasta coming out. The negative point about the weight certainly didn’t weigh up against the positive points of this amazing pasta maker. Manual pasta machines in general are tough to clean, as there are lots of nooks and crannies where flour or dough can build up, and you can often use only a soft cloth or brush.

For example, when considering longevity, I am leery of machines with a lot of plastic parts since they seem to wear out/break quicker (especially if used on a regular basis). How easy each machine was to clean: When we finished the pasta-making tests, we disassembled and thoroughly cleaned each machine per its user manual, using any included brushes and other tools. This popular manual model is from an Italian company that's been crafting pasta machines for generations. I understand your view on aluminum and its health concerns, especially with aluminum being linked with Alzheimers in several studies.

As standard the Imperia Pasta machine will enable you to make many types of pasta, such as spaghetti, tagliatelle, lasagne sheets which can in turn be used to make ravioli and cannelloni. You probably want to be able to make fettuccini, spaghetti, perhaps pappardelle if you're feeling fancy or, on the flip side, some simple lasagne pasta sheets for the take-the-easy-route chefs among us. Its silver-finished stainless steel construction will blend seamlessly with other appliances in your kitchen or pantry, and it fits into the SP150 effortlessly. You can take it apart to rinse and scrub all the pieces just like most others, but there are a lot of grooves and other nooks and crannies you'll have to scrub out with the included brush.

Some staples for popular pasta dishes include a Cavetelli attachment and a Ravioli pasta maker attachment, which will let you produce perfect sheets of fresh Ravioli in one go. The 9 different thickness settings of the Marcato are a plus, yes, but we wouldn’t say that this is a deal breaker for the Imperia. Each batch of fresh noodles was boiled in salted water for three minutes before draining and sampling. There are lots of options for pasta makers to help mix, shape, and cut, from old-school hand-cranked tabletop models to fully automated electric options. With a pasta maker, the process is much easier and faster, with more uniform noodles that cook evenly. It has a double gear to ensure smooth rolling and eight thickness settings to adjust to your personal preference. Different brands performed totally differently in this respect during testing—some worked better while completely full, and others liked smaller batches. Machines also might include custom-shaped cleaning tools, while you have to supply your own brush with others. With the ongoing success of the Marcato Atlas 150 series, Marcato decided to make the model available in nine different colors: copper, red, heavenly blue, gold, pink, black, blue, green and of course the standard chromed edition.
