Seeing Silas go through so much pain when Alanna couldn't remember something trivial about their past was agonising. I was really not ready for this novella to end; I needed so much more but I guess that will have to wait until the full-length novel. It's convenient time jump that makes him a connected billionaire, though I still don't fully understand what his business does. This one started off so well for me but after about the 45% mark, things just felt off with the story.

When I saw the blurb I really thought I was going to be reading a book where h went after her exs brother after he used her but that was not the case and it was a surprising (in a good way).

What a beautiful story it had be on the edge of my seat and the emotional I went through honestly had me feeling I was part of the story. I initially couldn't get past these themes in the beginning so I put the book down for a while and then gave it another chance because the reviews mentioned a future so I assumed the characters would grow up and I would be less disturbed.Catharina is very active on Instagram and her Facebook Reader Group in addition to several other platforms online. Fast forward two years, Leia and Adrian cross paths yet again but since she had been previously hurt Leia insists on boundaries in their new relationship. But everything that I found endearing about them in the first half was missing for me in the second. I don't think any book has ever ripped my heart out and pieced it back together quite like this one. I'm not going to be the one that leaves spoilers in a review but this is a very developed storyline with many twists and turns.
