Description

Felixs current favourite game fright now is ‘Find Chaffy’ where you hide them all and give clues as to their locations… Dog Man and similar graphic novels are great for giggles, but some readers want a little more excitement. For fans of adventure, there can be no other choice than Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi. After a family tragedy, two children find their mum being taken by an unknown creature through a door in their basement. Without hesitation, they follow her through, intent on rescuing her. They certainly were not ready for the world that is awaiting them! So, when I made the Chaffys not that long ago, I mentioned that Felix liked to play ‘Find Chaffy’ with them. This is fine and fair enough when playing games, but the Chaffys appear to sneak around and get into all sorts of places… So, when we were up visiting Rabbie at Easter, her husband introduced Felix to ‘Find Chaffy’ by James Smart, a sort of incredibly cute and fluffy version of ‘Wheres Wally’. But of course, it didn’t end there, you see, Rabbie had made Chaffy, and four of the nine other Chaffy forms.

Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments WHEN: +++ FLASH SALE – Numbers are limited. Chaffies will be on sale NOW for a week (ending 30th October 2018, 3PM UK time), or until Jamie runs out, whichever is sooner +++ This is just a little place on the web to showcase the various things I’ve created, what I’ve been up to and to give information regarding commissions and craft fairs I plan to attend.Younger children love looking at the pictures in these graphic novels but sometimes there’s a few too many words for beginner readers so for those children we fully recommend Narwhal: Unicorn of the Seaby Ben Clanton . These short comics are the perfect introduction to graphic novels for newly confident readers. Set under the sea, they follow the adventures of quirky Narwhal and his sweet friend Jelly. There are plenty of laughs to be shared! Looshkin is the maddest cat in the world! You may think that your cat is mad, but they've got nothing on Looshkin. Leave him for just a moment and you'll find that your house has flooded, a steam train has smashed into your living room and a portal to another dimension has opened in your loft. Based all these on the free pattern Oh Balls!by Marcie Nishioka – with additions and modifications to suit each one. Jamie Smart, who many of you will know from his awesome Bunny Vs Monkey books, has a new series out for younger fans called Max & Chaffy. Max has recently moved and in search of a creature called a Chaffy but it is missing. Can you help Max find Chaffy?

LoveReading4Kids Says

For those long time readers, you may remember the first time I did Chaffys, based on those found in Jamie Smart’s book ‘Find Chaffy’. Well, he did a sequel, ‘Find chaffy Now’. Rabbie let slip to Felix that it existed so we got a copy and I was conned into making two sets of those. Jamie Smart is the bestselling creator of the Bunny vs Monkey and Looshkin comic books. His work regularly appears in The Phoenix comic, a weekly story comic for children. He is also the author/illustrator of the middle - grade series Flember. Jamie has illustrated comics for The Sunday Times, the Beano and the Dandy , and his comic Fish-Head Steve was the first comic to be shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize You’ll notice in the photo that only nine of the ten Chaffys are present, and a little set of fingers, this is because Inkling has taken a shine to them, especially the dinosaur one, and kept photo bombing and stealing them, this was the best of a bad bunch! I made a Chaffy bag. In all the colours of the Chaffys. It’s pretty bright, and almost but not quite rainbow like! I used the free pattern ‘ Taffy’by The Noble Thread – mostly because I liked the construction and it would allow panels of colour as opposed to the normal stripes. Aside from his own creations, Jamie has also been given the reins on Doctor Who (creating over 50 enormous picture searches for both the Doctor Who magazines, also collected into their own book), been the full time writer and artist on Desperate Dan for five years, and also created and edits the free annual children's comic 'Moose Kid Comics' - a love letter to the medium, and a call to arms for new talent.
