This isn’t a legacy game, but rather a series of campaigns that build on one another and can be reset to play again and again. It’s A Wonderful World, however, seems to have done its homework and smoothed over a few of the rougher spots.

I can think of very few drafting games that play solo and not many more that play well at two without large modifications to the rules. When a card is fully built, it’s added to the player’s Empire to increase the player’s production capacity for each round. Some are just okay, but the addition of player powers each round is quite enjoyable – if anything, I would have liked to see these refined into variable player powers that you could use after the campaign is over, instead.I normally recommend against hate-drafting, but if you need to burn a card for resources and you have your pick of several, burning the one that helps you and hurts your opponent is the smartest possible move, I think. The player with the most VPs wins the game; ties are broken first by the number of constructed cards and then by the number of financiers and generals.

More cards seems like it might actually not be the perfect fix, but adding other things to manipulate aspects of the gameplay would be interesting, especially something that hits players who are a bit too far ahead. Once you’ve completed all the campaigns, you can integrate the various pieces back into the regular game… but more on that later. If you’re a fan of It’s a Wonderful World and you’re looking for a fun new experience that changes things up just enough to create new engagement while still embracing the game you know and love… this is probably for you.

Each player looks at their hand of cards, chooses one to keep and then passes the remaining cards to the left (rounds 1 and 3) or right (rounds 2 and 4). Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process. As soon as you have placed the required cubes, you move the card onto your Empire and any production will be active from then on, the points will be the player who gained the most materials that round will get a blue financier token, these are worth one point, but there are cards that can be used to increase the multiplier on these types of tokens.
