Description

This book carries on right where book 1 finishes, Hetty is now 14 and getting ready to leave the Children's Foundling hospital, fully trained and ready to go into work as a servant, she doesn't want the life of a servant but she knows it's the only way to stay close to her mother. However just before she leaves her mother is discovered and sent away, alone again Hetty fears what will become of her. A thoroughly enjoyable book by Wilson, I know I am really too old for these books now, but there is a certain charm about them that makes them a pleasure to read. Some of her work is a bit samey and predictable but this one has a freshness to it.

Hetty yang selama ini di Foundling Hospital tidak pernah dipuji dan lebih sering dihukum, sangat senang ketika Bertie selalu memuji nya, entah itu rambutnya indah, matanya biru cantik, dll...

Diamond/Ellen-Jane Potts

The book is followed by Emerald Star which was released 27 September 2012. The series continues with Diamond which is about a girl who Hetty met in Emerald Star. This is followed by Little Stars which follows Hetty and Diamond after the events of Diamond. As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children's Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children's Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame.

Jacqueline is one of the nation’s favourite authors, and her books are loved and cherished by young readers not only in the UK but all over the world. She has sold millions of books and in the UK alone the total now stands at over 35 million! Extreme Doormat: Can't tell the woman that he's supposed to marry he doesn't love her because he's scared at what his village might think.... He marries Janet anyway, out of embarrassment. I must say Hetty Feather and Sapphire Battersea are by far my favourite novels/ series Jacqueline Wilson has written to date. After finding out that Ida Battersea - the kitchen maid of the Foundling Hospital - is her mother, Hetty Feather regularly sneaks into her room at night to bond with her. Hetty dreams of being a successful author, writing stories under her true name, Sapphire Battersea.

In Chapter One, Hetty introduces herself by claiming that her christened name is not her real one. She declares that she can vividly remember when her mother left her at the Foundling Hospital, and wonders what she was originally called. She describes her sapphire eyes as her best feature, but that her most distinguishable asset is her red hair. Hetty asserts that she has as fiery of a nature as she does hair. As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children’s Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children’s Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame. I read Hetty Feather last week after a recommendation from one of the girls at my Diving group. She also told me to read Sapphire Battersea, but at the time I didn't realise they were connected. When I finished Hetty Feather I was disappointed that the story hadn't finished but then I looked up this one and found it was the second one in what will be a trilogy, so of course I had to request it to read. Sapphire Battersea is the second book in the Hetty Feather series, written by the incredible author Jacqueline Wilson. It definitely didn't disappoint after one of my favourite books, Hetty Feather! It is such a good book that I have found myself reading it four times; loving it more every time. This is a fascinating, funny and moving Victorian-era novel featuring Hetty Feather. Hetty Feather is a Foundling Hospital girl and was given her name when she was left there as a baby by her mother. But she always longed to be called Sapphire, after her sapphire-blue eyes. But life doesn't always go as planned...Follow the twists and turns of Hetty's adventure as she goes out to work as a maid for a wealthy man.
