Cedar and redwood are naturally decay resistant, and have enough stiffness to perform well in this application. In some custom homes the garage doors add to the architectural detail and it makes sense to have them standout. Because of this, the outside trim around the front doors, garage door and the porch pillar were in pretty bad shape this spring.The white trim brightens up the area, popping against the dark gray siding and making a better transition to the lighter color on the door.
