In the Authors letter at the end she says she hopes this book has taken the reader out the chaos of the current world situation just for a while and I can say 100% it did Ella is everything Clare is not... young, beautiful, alluring, stylish. She knows a secret about Clare ... a secret that will tear this family apart if it becomes known. In The Sister-in-Law we meet Clare who has been married to her husband Dan for quite a while with the couple having three young children. Clare had lost both of her parents early in life so when marrying Dan she loved gaining his family as her own and always looks forward to their large family vacations with his parents and brother. OMG!!! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! WHAT HAVE I JUST READ!?!?!? Ruth Harrow you are an absolute writing legend!!! Absolutely love the constant unexpected twists!! Rounding out the group will be Dan’s BROTHER, Jamie, the prodigal son, who is often traveling abroad but plans to join them a day or so later...

When I read something so gripping, stressing and unputdownable like this book I normally start biting my nails, arm and end my painful journey ends with bite marks on my triceps. But this time, I couldn’t stop and left bite marks on our couches and fantasized five million ways of killing a sister-in-law Ella who seems one of the most irritating characters I’ve ever seen for long time! Sarah was hard to like; she appeared to be flighty, irresponsible, and over-the-top. All of these characteristics were likely increased by her use of ketamine, which is also not something you can just quit. She came through in the end for her sister, but still was not a likable character. When Sarah goes missing, Kate turns to James, Sarah's husband, to find some answers....but the more they delve, the more becomes apparent. Clare and the family go on holidays. The beauty of Italian coast is supposed to help them heal and feel better, after all - family is the most important thing.Wow! What a read!… superb twists… this book is a MUST read… The entire story has you guessing and in suspense.’ Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars Absolutely brilliant!!! I loved it and the ending left me speechless!! It blew my mind!! One of my favourites for 2018!!! This is a must read!!’ Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars Ella was so evil that she made my insides quiver, her darts of poisonous arrows found their mark. The barbs were fantastic in the dialogues. The ending was most unexpected. Sheesh I should have guessed it. But what can I say, Sue Watson had hidden it in plain sight...

From the bestselling author of The Secret Mother and The Child Next Door, this absolutely unputdownable psychological thriller will keep you guessing with every heart-stopping twist. If you loved Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and The Sister, this book is for you. Clare is ready for a break. In fact, she needs one. She and her husband, Dan are going to use their Family Holiday at an Italian Villa to work on their marriage. It seems that Dan can't quite keep his hands and eyes to himself. After his last affair, they really need this time for them. It is one those books that hold no great mystery, and written rather lightly, simply, but they get you swept away like a big wave, and before you know you are sailing through the book. A wife who vanishes while making dinner leaves no traces at all. This had me from the off! I was hooked. I was intrigued to know where Sarah was and what had happened. This is a total 'one more chapter' book. Yes, one more chapter until I had finished it that is!

The book felt very choppy, and was hard to get invested in. I thought the premise of the story was interesting, but it just didn’t connect with me. Overall, I was disappointed. The story may have went repetitive at times especially the two members of this family who can't seem to stand each other but thankfully it wasn't boring. The twists were also good. Nothing too insane nor crazy but will still leave you dumbfounded just like me. For finally all of these made sense. I figured like two of them to give myself some credit.

Humming with anxiety and friction, The Sisters keep readers guessing as to who is doing what to whom until the very end...[A] gripping psychological debut SHELF AWARENESSClare and Dan plus their 3 young children are spending a summer with Dan's parents and his younger brother, Jamie.
