Drakkar Noir is French and not Italian, but he has that dramatic, fist-bumping, eyes-to-the-sky quality, just like Dalla's epochal song, today more than ever. Drakkar Noir wants to be consciously chosen, consciously worn - by someone who wants to show off and wear all of this - the macho, the barber, the 80s. Don’t expect a complete recreation of the original, but if you’re on a strict budget, it can be worthwhile. The scent starts off with a nice blend of mint, citruses, lavender, and spices. Unlike some common colognes, the citrus notes do not overpower the opening or even dominate it.

However, there is a notable difference between them. Lomani takes a much more balanced approach and the resulting scent has more citruses and lesser spices. Dakar has an aromatic, woody, and mossy scent, very reminiscent of Drakkar. It starts off with splendid spices, water notes, moss, and woody tones. The main essence of this cologne is very masculine, mysterious, and sort of dark. But that doesn’t take away from the refreshing, clean feel of the fragrance.
