Full princess treatment: carrying her to the car, opening car doors, brushing and braiding hair, making breakfast for her. but I’d do it all over again. I’d fall in love with you all over again. I’d break my heart all over again because loving you was one of the greatest surprises of my life.”

you just took a bite of one of those little cucumber sandwiches, looked her square in the eye, and said, ‘this is my dad.’ It was the first time you had ever called me that, and after the tea party I cried in your school’s bathroom for a solid thirty minutes.”[…] If you are looking for an MMC who shows affection through small gestures, is incredibly thoughtful and honest, expresses a little of all five love languages, gets dominant in the sheets and gives so much praise...allow me to introduce you to Ryan Shay, NBA’s most popular basketball player.Mmm,” he hums her name, touching her face as gently as he can. “You almost got it. One day I’ll get to hear you say my name. You’ll have to make sure your daddy records it for me when you do.” He looks right at her, his icy blues boring into her, and there’s absolutely no misunderstanding when he says, “Mmm…Mama.” Miller’s face falls. “What did you say?” Because with Miller Montgomery, my coach's daughter, standing in my kitchen looking like that, I'm afraid something very dangerous has already gotten in." Ryan Shay- I won't say he was a perfect book boyfriend but he was good enough to keep me interested. I loved how he took care of Indy, and noticed her little quirks. The fact he learned sign language cause of Indy and her parents was really sweet. Loved how he talked about her books obsession with her and always heard her out. I liked how open he was about vulnerabilities.

made sure she always had food to eat wherever she was bc she’s a vegetarian and replaces all his food with vegetarian safe options just for her. 🫶🏼 loves her quietly yet so fiercely, worships her, pushes indy to do what she wants and allows her to be unapologetically herself, stands up for her, respects her and helps her move on from her shitty ex and shows her what’s it like to be loved and adored. What I don’t like is the new flight attendant on our team’s private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I’ll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she’ll be begging to quit her job. And if you love forced proximity and/or fake dating, this is your book. Ryan and Indy are roommates who agree to fake date for their own reasons. It'll help Ryan show the team's general manager that he actually has a work/life balance and isn't a recluse, and it'll mean Indy has a date to her friend's wedding where her ex will be at. Kai and Miller have such a beautiful story and their dynamic with Max made my heart so happy. These three were meant to be a family and I absolutely adore them so much. The amount of times I cried while reading this book is embarrassing but it really hit me in the feels. You have Indy who wants to be shown love and Ryan does that+ so much more, but then you have Ryan who wants to be wanted for who he is as a person and Indy shows him exactly that. They are perfection, their chemistry was through the roof and you just see these two people and can feel in every part of you that they are just made for each other. They way they showed up for each other, learned one another’s love language and put it into action, like please sedate me, it was the sweetest thing ever!!! This is a book about “quiet love being the loudest” and god I loved that!!!!! I want Ryan Shay’s quiet love so bad!! I LOVE THIS BOOK WITH ALL OF MY HEART. I was so emotional when finishing because I just didn’t want it to end. miller and kai’s bantering was so funny and entertaining, i absolutely loved it. and gosh the tension between these two in some scenes was just perfect, i literally gobbled those scenes right up ! and while they had their fair share of funny moment too, the also had a lot of absolutely adorable moments my vision got a little blurry sometimes i won’t lie. the way they took care of each other, and respected each other gahh I WANT THAT !

Our arrangement isn’t one-sided, though. I’m in a wedding coming up, one where every one of my childhood friends, including my ex-boyfriend, will be in attendance, and there’s no better date than my ex’s celebrity hero. Evan Zanders is unfiltered, unapologetic, and too attractive for his own good. He loves his image, but I hate everything about it.

Success!

Getting to know Ryan as more than just his relationship with Stevie was very special and makes what we see of him in Mile High all the more sentimental. I love the protective nature of him at the same time that he is so supportive and uplifting at the same time. Indy has my whole heart. I want her to be my best friend. Her struggle to discover where she fits in outside of the life she’s known before, knowing her worth and accepting no less than what she deserves, has been absolute perfection. She is such a relatable character. Not spoiling anything, just meet that hot book girl – she’s one of us 😉

I've complained about so many dumb things before, but a heroine being NOT annoying is a first for meLiz Tomforde literally served a basketball romance that’s best friends brother trope turned roommate I just love how Liz Tomforde writes and creates her characters, story and plot!! She just knows how to create the perfect love story while also including different important topics which need to represented and talked about!! i’m so disappointed and kind of sad that i didn’t love and enjoy this book as much as i wanted to. all the right ingredients were present to depict the perfect romance and with author’s writing i had no doubt that i would literally devour this story. my problem is; i felt no spark between the protagonists, no chemistry or alchemy. i didn’t root for them. i didn’t hate them but i didn’t love them either. everything felt bland for at least the first 70% of the plot but the 30% left got me all the feels and i wish it was sufficient to say i enjoyed this book. Miller + Kai + Max = everything. The romance between the couple is perfect, the relationship between Kai and his son was the most beautiful and heartwarming, and don’t even get me started on the bond that Miller develops with Max. It’s the best thing ever. When Max finally gets her name out, and instead of Miller its Mama he’s trying to say… I bawled honestly this is everything I want in a romance. I’ll take no criticism with this book it’s as close to perfect as they come.
