Description

There are nice rubber feet in all four corners that help keep the vacuum in place on flat surfaces. In the photo above, you can also see the suction end of the hose wand in its stored position. Inside the dust compartment you’ll find the Cubevac’s fairly rudimentary pre-motor filtration system - a mesh shroud over a pleated paper filter. They both twist out as one unit then separate for cleaning. There’s no post-motor filter accessible to the user. How did you test the Cubevac?

If you’re a ‘little and often’ type of car cleaner the Worx Cubevac will be perfect for you. It couldn’t be easier to use and is great for tight spaces and small cars. It feels solid and high-quality and like it will stand up to a lot of dirty work. Another nice feature is the onboard storage. It means that the brush and crevice accessories are always with you. That crevice accessory also has a hidden benefit. It is extendable to reach into really tight spaces. Our experts had plenty of great things to say about the ThisWorx vacuum. They named it one of the best portable vacuums of the year and loved its lightweight design and various cleaning attachments. In their research, they found that the ThisWorx product could reach almost every nook and cranny in the vehicle they tested it on, thanks to its extendable head. Best of all, it can be used, year round as wet debris won't do it any harm. HIGH-EFFICIENCY BRUSHLESS MOTOR: Brushless motor technology delivers 50% longer run time, 25% more power and 10 times longer lifetime than traditional brush motors, enabling Worx Shop Vacuum WX031.9 to have excellent performance on cleaning. The vacuum is pretty compact and at just over five pounds with the battery, eminently portable. Setup

What is it?

I washed the two filters and let them dry for the next use. This brought up my next complaint. There is simply no way to empty the debris bin and clear the filters without getting yourself filthy. My hands were covered in dust after banging off the two filters. The Worx Cubevac is perfect for ‘little and often’ type cleaners. It’s versatile, easy to use, and high-quality, so it feels like it’ll last for a long time. Its compact size means it’s great for tight spaces and small cars. We also tested how good the Cubevac’s supplied attachments are on more stubborn dirt, or in more awkward areas such as down the side of seats or inside cupholders. What’s good about the Worx Cubevac? Each year, we review over 1,000 auto products. We start by consulting our network of experts for their thoughts on any given product. These experts have over 100 years of combined experience in aftermarket auto fields ranging from detailing to accessories to tires, and everything in-between. These experts help us identify the qualities that would be most important to someone looking for these products and the standout brands in each category. Being cordless is always a boon for a car vac – it’s not always convenient to drag a mains-powered machine out onto the driveway, and if you have to street park you’re limited by whether you can get a space outside your own house.

Having the tools store onboard is a masterstroke, as it’s all too easy to lose the attachments for a cordless vacuum, while we really like having the stretch hose to make it easier to manoeuvre around the interior. The WX030L is a 20V portable cordless vacuum that includes attachments. Is uses any of the Worx 20V batteries and can share its battery with other Worx 20V Power Share tools. What’s in the box?

What's bad about it?

The hose looks pretty short when stored. When you pull the want out, two things happen. First, the hose expands. Inside the dust compartment, you’ll find a mesh shroud over a pleated paper filter, both of which twist out as one unit for cleaning. There’s no post-motor filter. How did you test the Cubevac?

How else? Cleaning the car. I’m not obsessive, but I do like the inside of my car to be clean – so getting stray grit and fluff from the floor mats is the bare minimum I expect from a car vacuum. I headed into the garage with a fully charged battery, expecting to have to go through a couple of charging cycles to complete the process. Wrong! Next to it there’s a release for the dirt bin catch. Having it on the top of the machine is great because you can lower the Cubevac into the bin before you empty it, minimising the dust cloud you often get when disposing of the dirt from a bagless vacuum. This isn’t a powerful cleaner, even on its ‘High’ mode. This was shown when we tried to extract sand from a car mat - we had to go over it several times to get the last bit out, where a more powerful cordless cleaner - or one with a spinning turbine tool - would extract it with ease.
