Description

It is the sunnah of Allah (سنة الله - the custom of Allah) that He sends prophets with the most perfect characteristics, inner and outer, so that mankind has no reason to reject the messenger. As we know, Prophet Yusuf (يوسف - Joseph) was given half of all beauty. Some scholars say this means half of all beauty of mankind (this is the majority opinion); but some scholars say it means half of the beauty of Prophet Muhammad PBUH because —according to this opinion— the Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the most handsome and beautiful of the entire creation. Seerah gives you a detailed history of the Prophet’s ﷺ life, from before and after he became a prophet, his efforts to spread Islam, the battles and challenges he faced, his personal life, etc. Why is Studying Seerah Important? 10 Key Reasons Explained O Allaah, send prayers upon Muhammad (ﷺ) and upon the family of Muhammad (ﷺ) as You sent prayers upon the family of Ibraaheem (AS), and send blessings upon Muhammad (ﷺ) and upon the family of Muhammad (ﷺ), as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibraaheem (AS), You are indeed Worthy of Praise, Full of Glory.

His life shows countless examples of honesty, compassion, patience, leadership, and more. By studying his Seerah, you can learn all the best virtues and become a better person. 6. Defending The Honor of Rasulullah ﷺ In Islam, Seerah refers to the Seerah of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Al-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, often abbreviated to Seerah and translated as prophetic biography, is the Islamic culture biographies of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from which much historical knowledge about the life of the prophet and the early period of Islam is drawn, in addition to the Quran and Hadiths.Another source of Seerah is the genre of books written about the miracles (Dala-il) of the Prophet (ﷺ). Many books were written on miracles. The most famous book of Dala-il is called Dala-il-Nubuwa by Imama Al-Baihaqi (384 AH/994 CE - 458 AH/ 1066 CE), a massive encyclopedia of around twelve volumes. So by looking at the miracles, you can extract Seerah. So (O Prophet!) it is owing to the great mercy of Allâh that you are gentle towards them. Had you been harsh, hard-hearted, they would have certainly dispersed from around you; hence pardon them and ask protection for them, and consult them in matters (of administration), and when you are determined (after due consultation), put your trust in Allâh. Verily, Allâh loves those who put their trust in Him.”

Prophet (ﷺ) is Rahmah, and his sending is Rahmah, his message is Rahmah, his teachings is Rahmah, and believing and acting upon what he has come with is Rahmah. Therefore, he is everything associated with mercy, that is Rahmat-al-lil-alameen. Ibn Shihāb al-Zuhrī (d. c. 737), a central figure in sīra literature, who collected both ahadith and akhbār. His akhbār also contain chains of transmissions, or isnad. He was sponsored by the Umayyad court and asked to write two books, one on genealogy and another on maghāzī. The first was canceled and the one about maghāzī is either not extant or has never been written. So they will go to him and he will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking.' and he will mention (his) killing a person who was not a killer, and so he will feel ashamed thereof before his Lord, and he will say, 'Go to Isa (AS), Allah's Slave, His Apostle and Allah's Word and a Spirit coming from Him. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala gave many miracles to Allah’s Messenger ﷺ, such as the Quran, Isra and Mi’raj, splitting the moon, predictions of future events, etc. Al Quran was the greatest miracle among them.To understand the Seerah, you do not begin with the birth of the Prophet (ﷺ). Instead, you must start with the world at that time. That is why every book of Seerah, from the most classical books to the modern ones, has introductory sections. The Prophet Muhammad is said to have walked with his head down and his eyes fixed on the ground rather than the sky. He is reported to have walked with great strides and a faint somber aura, lowering his head as though descending from above. We come across Seerah, most of the times, in books where it is sometimes mentioned as a fact. We just read through it casually as we read any other fact, not realizing that Seerah holds a lot of significance. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had to go through all of those ‘facts’. Learning about Seerah does not mean just reading a book, it involves contemplating, pondering, reflecting, and deriving lessons from it and applying those lessons in our lives. It requires developing a spiritual relationship and a bonding with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

And then he said, I am the Nabi-yu-Rahma and I am the Nabi-Yu-Taubah. Allah calls him Rahmat-lil-Alamin. Nabi Yu Taubah, means the Prophet of repentance. He is the source of repentance, meaning that by believing in him and by following his teachings, people can be forgiven. He said, I am the Aaqib. He himself explained it as well; there is no Prophet after me. So Al-Aaqib means the successor. What it means is that the one who comes at the end. At later periods, certain type of stories included in sīra developed into their own separate genres. One genre is concerned with stories of prophetic miracles, called aʿlām al-nubuwa (literally, "proofs of prophethood"—the first word is sometimes substituted for amārāt or dalāʾil). Another genre, called faḍāʾil wa mathālib — tales that show the merits and faults of individual companions, enemies, and other notable contemporaries of Muhammad. [2] Some works of sīra also positioned the story of Muhammad as part of a narrative that includes stories of earlier prophets, Persian Kings, pre-Islamic Arab tribes, and the Rashidun. [2]Allah (SWT) tells us in the Quran that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the best role model to follow. So, to follow in his footsteps, we need to learn more about his life. In Surah al-Ahzab, The Quran 33:21, Allah (SWT) says: “There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and (who) remembers Allah often.”
