This all means that the P50 Pro is a serious hardware treat with some massive experience clangers, despite Huawei’s best efforts. Where the Huawei P50 Pro really shines is photography, which isn’t surprising as Huawei has long been at the forefront of mobile photography, especially with its P series. The main camera on the Huawei P50 Pro is fantastic, and capable of capturing brilliant shots in any lighting conditions. We were, however, slightly disappointed with the ultrawide and telephoto cameras, which don’t offer the best color fidelity compared to the primary shooter. Calling and standby time data under Low battery emergency mode comes from Huawei lab tests conducted in controlled environments. Actual performance may vary due to differing network conditions and usage conditions. All data is subject to actual usage.

Please see our Trade-in Bonus terms and conditions, for more information. When it comes to low-light photography, Huawei has always been at the forefront. However, while low-light images from the P50 Pro do look impressive, they’re not as sharp as we’ve seen from some competitors recently. Certain low-light images, especially of buildings, often have a slight softness to them. For Laptops / Tablets: lets you select a monthly Device Plan Credit Agreement (3-48 months) with a 24 month Data Plan. You can pay off your Device Plan early, and if you do, you can then keep your Data Plan on a 30-day contract or leave. If your Data Plan ends for any reason, you will need to keep on paying your monthly Device Plan (either in full or monthly) The Huawei P50 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset found in most of last year’s flagship phones of last year, with one omission: it only comes with an LTE/4G connectivity. Color reproduction is excellent, and the OLED screen is great for watching movies and videos on. Huawei has also increased the refresh rate to 120Hz, up from 90Hz on the P40 Pro, which makes navigating the UI or scrolling through apps super-smooth. You can set the refresh rate to Dynamic, which adjusts the refresh rate depending on what you’re doing on your phone, to save battery life, but you’ll get the smoothest all-round experience by setting it to High. Specs and performance Like all other flagship phones, the Huawei P50 Pro proved to be extremely smooth and zippy in day-to-day use. The phone scored 3018 in Geekbench 5, which is pretty much around what other Snapdragon 888-based phones have scored.

Huawei makes every effort at the time of publication to ensure the accuracy of product information it provides. Due to subsequent changes involving product batches, production and supply factors, it may be necessary for Huawei to make changes and adjustments to text and images so that they match the performance, specifications, indexes, and components of the actual product. Product information is subject to such changes and adjustments without notice. FM Radio: No, USB: microUSB 3.1 Type-C, Music, Alert MP3, Ringtones, Vibration, Polyphonic, Infrared Port We saw Chinese and French in the Wallet app, and Huawei Books is problematic at best, with its recommendation to read books like ‘ CEO Daddy, Don’t Be Angry’, ‘Arrogant Wife, Don’t Run Away’, and ‘Ex-Daddy, Don’t be too Scheming’, in addition to a host of raunchy-covered alternatives. Now onto the department Huawei phones are known for: their cameras. The standard P50 has three rear shooters, with a 50MP main, 12MP periscope zoom and 12MP ultra-wide snapper. That's a fair complement of cameras, with the periscope module supporting 5x optical zoom. Not that the newer phone gets its own way in every regard. The P40 Pro has 5G connectivity and a much lower price tag, even if we’re just considering the RRP.Partying like it’s 2018, we have a high-priced flagship that’s unable to connect to the 5G network in the UK. Why Huawei stripped the P50 Pro of its 5G capabilities is anyone’s guess, especially when the previous P40 Pro (which launched in 2019) didn’t have such restrictions. It’s utterly bizarre. The P50 Pro introduces a new camera set-up, with a 50MP primary camera at the helm, a 40MP monochrome sensor alongside it (matched with a wide-open f/1.6 aperture), a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP telephoto camera, which delivers a roughly 3.3x zoom.
